I really hate automatics. I truly have no idea what I’m doing.

Is this from City Racer? I just ordered what I thought were Aisin master and and wheel cylinders from CR, but what they sent were Advics - though if I recall, the casting itself says "Aisin." I will confirm that when I get home.
Can’t be as strange as you think. Only improving.Strange things are afoot….
The future bodes well for you. Since I fixed the low power issue with my 3FE equipped '86 FJ60 a few days ago, my wife and I have been enjoying the raw power (ha!) of the fuel injected engine once freed from the shackles of the automatic transmission. I bet I could make it up Imogene Pass in 2WD after all.
For later, just thinking out loud.

I'll be reading over it a few times.
I use my old analog multimeter for one of the calibration steps, it's easy to tell by the needle when the resistance just goes to infinity. I use my digital multimeter for the other measurements. Finally got my new TPS sensor. Had to order from Amazon because vescovo is out of the online parts business and canceled my order without telling me.
I’ll try to recalibrate the tps with my new Klein multimeter to maybe smooth the idle out. Got come fancy feeler gauges too.

[edit: unless I'm completely dense and totally misunderstood the meaning of your post.]
