Similar temps are given for the 2F except a range is given, 187-194F, and fully open at 212F with same valve lift. I couldn't find any info in the 1980 2F engine manual about coolant system limits but given the similarities between the 2F and 3FE...
I installed the modified fan clutch today and will be giving it a good test tomorrow and Saturday when I do a couple interstate runs at 70 mph with air temps hovering around 100F.
Man. I truly don’t think I’ve driven Blue since the car show 7 weeks ago. I’ve been so busy.
I took it to the car wash then lunch and then to run errands. 97 degrees and it was keeping up with the AC but barely.
Such a great 60
Prior to installing the Bowfin, having a clean roof, my interstate mileage while running at 65-70 mph was consistently 12-13 mpg. Since installing the Bowfin rack I've made several long interstate runs and the roof rack has had no negative effect...
I ran a homemade rack on my 60 for 8-10 years and found that have a roof rack was very useful at times. The old rack needed some work so I pulled it off but as I looked it over I did not want to reinstall it. Having seen the Bowfin rack I knew...
I HAVE always preferred to control my own shift points. I'm thinking the H55 swap may be the way to go, esp. if it saves $$ that I can put into other parts of the truck.

When the auto works, it’s great. When it doesn’t, it’s bad. I know @orangefj45 rebuilds them.
Also; if you’re in a smog state swapping the transmission can invalidate it from being inspected. Something to consider for resale as well.
If our 3fe can be fully locked up, yours may be savable with a refresh. This was zero compression on several cylinders and 291,000 miles of being smogged.
If you take $15k and assuming there is a spot available right now at a shop, it won’t get...
The trans in my 62 was leaking, had water/coolant in it from a busted radiator, had worn Outputshaft splines and was shifting very poorly but it still worked.
After getting a few numbers we decided to put an h55f in it. The 5 speed swap will be...
Under hood temps have def gone up with the turbo. I've got air temp sensors in both the air intake pipe and charge air pipe so I can see how hot it's getting. So today I built a shroud around the turbo using standard duct parts and then...
Finished up my manifold and desmog project, installed my rebuilt Aisin carb from @mattressking and had @HemiAlex work his carb tune. Set out for the coast for a long weekend and it drove great. ~280 hot miles with no issues. Working on rear...
Its time for this rig to finally gets its a$$ up here to Seattle! While I had ambitions of driving it up, the distance and the scope of work needed to actually complete that drive just kept growing the more I poked around. Sometimes ambitions and...
