Thanks for the post and question. We have thought about it, but the OEM pumps are still available new. The 62 pumps are also much lesstroublesome when it comes to leakage since they were not located near the exhaust, like the previous generation...
Question for you Georg, mainly to satiate my curiosity; do you have any plans for a Saginaw conversion kit for 62s? In my case it wouldn't be any kind of upgrade (I have an OEM rebuild kit for when my pump starts groaning again, plus I'm not...
Very much so. Our rigs are getting to the "if they've seen any moisture there's rust" age, past the "there only rust around salted roads" age.
I for one definitely need a driver's side front fender and if I don't get on it ASAP, could end up...
One thing to double-check is that the coil/igniter assembly mounting bolts are clean, as I believe the igniter grounds though the mounting bracket. I added a supplementary body ground to mine, just in case.
Those are in considerably better condition than mine are. I would leave them in, spray em down with a corrosion inhibitor, and give em a looksee every year or so.
Ended up finding an original fender from Cruiser Corps in the original blue, mine 60 is slightly off original. Still had to install and paint match and knock out a small dent, but came out pretty decent. Best part is Cruiser Corps has free...
So I had an idea.
For the roof repair, why not check out a hotrod shop. They I bet will have done more chopped roof repairs and properly than any body shop.
Might be the ideal place to have them replace a rood and line it up right.
FYI. For anyone looking in the future…. You don’t need to piece together rubber for these windows. Rubber seals Australia has all of the rebuild parts and even sells it in a kit. You can actually get a kit that contains every single rubber...
With no signs on the ground of major leakage, I'd say check the underside of the oil filler cap for any milky residue. I've found that on other cars where they were losing coolant and I didn't see any sign on the dipstick.
If in fact you are...
Cruiser outfitters (@cruiseroutfit ) or Valley hybrids (@orangefj45) here both sell great kits and it is very much so a DIY job if you are inclined.
If i was you id still spray starter fluid over all of the vacuum hoses in your engine bay to...
There's nothing in the FSM that talks about repairing the AFM.
If there was a problem with the AFM, would it not throw a code? There seems to be a diagnostic code for the exact issue you identified with your multimeter (i.e. open loop between...
Good time to get a brand new rubber pad - the part that the switch hits against. Available brand new from Toyota for cheap. Once that gets a big enough divot, your brake lights are always on!
Rebuilt my carburetor. I think I found my fuel delivery problem🤞 That mesh screen on the inlet is about 80% plugged with crud, the image is the clean side. Plus there was crud in the bowl. That adds up to poor performance.
