Picked up this 1989 FJ62 kind of by accident. A guy was selling a truck on Facebook marketplace and this gem was in the background. It looks like the original motor was removed around 180,000 miles and the PO had a LT1 from a corvette ready to install. The body and frame has zero rust and all other components look mechanically sound. The LT1 motor has been machined, but I’m thinking about getting an LS for the swap. I’m diving into this with my husband who has his own 60, but I know absolutely nothing about cars. While he has been working on his 60 I’ve taken nearly everything out and going to start from scratch. I will undoubtedly need help from the hive mind here as I’m looking to complete a lot of this on my own. Wish me luck and follow along as I restore “Butters” (after the lovely butter color paint job). Should be interesting!
