Two easy to knock out pieces:

60 series fuel sending unit : 83320-69015 or 83361-20030

Hood cable with handle : 53630-90a01

The taper piece that sits in the latch has snapped and doesn’t stay in place. Much to
My dismay, duct tape and zip ties couldn’t fix it. Can’t drive it on the highway til this works.

hey hey hey :

The taper piece that sits in the latch : is the same as a 60 and 62 HAND THROTTLE one

Haha, oh man, that Motor Week review is a classic! I haven’t seen it in a few years. Some great quotes in there.

I did some extremely amateur welding and had a great time doing it.

Thanks to @js0k ,@ryaneddy16 and Noah. This is fun, I’ll be ready for pebble beach concours in no time.

Transmission crossmember brackets on the way from @torfab

Can’t wait. We’re getting close to a day of wrenching.

Tomorrow is day day of roof patching and getting some miles on it. Maybe.

Super excited for you. Torfab did my 40 trans/xfer case rebuild... what I dropped off to them was a large heavy aluminum turd and what I picked up was a piece of art. In other words, they do amazing work. I'm sure the crossmember brackets will be the same.

I expect good things!

I’m only needing to go get the trans and pedals now. And drop off the flywheel at the machine shop for surfacing.

I’m feeling crazy and I will likely try and drive it around with the auto trans that will likely blow up, just to get some miles on it before the swap.

Yeah give that auto trans one last hurrah before you yank it for the 5spd.

Drive it nice too, smoky burnouts at stop lights and power shifting it at 4000rpms.

Send it off to the yard with stories it will be proud to share while still smelling like burnt ATF!

I wanna see burnouts!! Should take a poll who thinks it can and who thinks it cannot do a burnout tire smoken burnouts

The roof rust dilemma is getting better.

The drip rails were solid, thankfully that means we didn’t have to cut the whole roof off.

We are getting close, I'm only missing the following for the manual swap.

Clutch fork and pivot
Clutch fork boot
Transmission top cover from a 60
Flywheel bolts
Bellhousing bolts
Split case rebuild kit
Reverse light adapter harness for the manual from @cruisermatt

@js0k is going to drop off the flywheel at his machinist, so he's awesome.

I need to go see @bottombracket for the transmission and pedals. He's been very patient, and I appreciate that.

It's getting close. I'm about to hit a very busy next few weeks without the truck, so I'll be stashing more parts.

I picked up this adapter harness from @cruisermatt it makes the H55F into the 62 a bolt in for one more area. For this application, the swap harness takes care of reverse lights and bypassing the neutral safety switch. The proper oem connectors just make it that much better.

I’m glad to help another small vendor.

The roof rust is repaired. We even found a really close rattle can paint.

It’s been a group effort for sure.

The roof will scuffed, primed and then rattle bombed.
