This is a nice driving and running FJ40. The body has some rust issues, the floors are solid. The frame has surface rust, but it is solid. In the last 1000 miles the starter has been replaced, the carb has been rebuilt, the clutch slave cylinder has been replaced, and the belts have been replaced. The a/c has been retro fitted and charged. A full tune up was also done. The Interstate battery is 3 years old. It has the original 6 cylinder engine and a manual transmission. This is a very unique truck with a frame-off restoration that took two years. The BJ42 is the Canadian diesel version of the Fj40 sold in the US. Very hard to get this truck registered and licensed in California which it is!! The truck has about 20,000 miles on it since the restoration.
The 3b motor was swapped for a 2019 R2.8 Cummins Diesel crate motor.

After many dollars I’m done! I hate to put a pencil to how much I have spent on this 40 over the last few years.

I return from a nice long ride, truck was running perfect like it always does. No smoke or any issues at all. I park it for an hour, then starts up sounding “different” stalls out and that’s it! Locked up, engine will not turn.

Oil level is right on.
Coolant level is right...

1972 Toyota FJ40. I didn’t want to sell this, but times are tough. It runs, drives and stops. 1F, 3 spd, it’s all original. Nice project truck, body work nearly finished and all rust has been repaired. Frame is solid, Rear Quarters replaced, floor pans, etc. I have new front fenders and most of the original factory parts along with 3 engines, several transfer cases, extra front chunk, original air cleaner, hard top, many parts. This could be a very nice truck with some TLC. I began restoration several years ago and just lost interest. Call or text with questions.

I’ve got a project I picked up a few years ago that I’m realizing I’ll never get to. Someone needs to finish this. Body done ready for paint. Motor and drivetrain rebuilt. Electronic ignition and front disc brakes added. Shackle reversal up front. 2” lift with Steelies and 33”BFG(5ea). Needs paint and assembly. Fiberglass top is already restored. Runs, drives, and stops as it should. This is a good as a daily driver or farm truck or a good platform for a complete renovation.
The truck was recently painted and no rust on the body. The paint is not perfect, but nice and gets tons of complements when I drive it.

WARN 8000 series winch ( I believe it's an older version of the current 8274-50). It was working fine, but I cut the wires in preparation for a winch rebuild that never happened. “Herm The Overdrive Guy” 360-256-3843, may be able to help you with parts , and maybe even restoration.
You will not need to do anything mechanically to this Landcruiser because I’ve done everything except the annoying oil leak...
This is the perfect start to your project, or the solution to your existing rig after you buddy 'sent it' over that jump. Complete rolling chassis on a really clean frame and a rare, rust free tub, cowl, fenders and hood. The tub alone is worth this price - and your get the rest for free!!!
