Happy Sunday all. Trying to dip my toe in this madness known as FJ40's. Really would like to find an original powertrain, original paint, rust is ok. Just want a summer toy. I live in Minnesota but my son is is in the middle of 40 heaven in Southern California. Thanks for the opportunity.

1970 FJ40 I thought I would have this longer but it's been about 4 years or so and the family no longer wants to ride in "Cookie Monster"
Chevy 350 V-8- less than 12,000 miles on the GM Crate Motor.
Custom 4 row radiator.
Mechanical fan and supplemental electric fan on radiator.
GM HEI Ignition.
Edelbrock Intake.
Carter 4 Barrel Off Road Carburetor.
Headers (right bank has a leak at collector).
Transmission and Power Steering cooler with electric fan.
Turbo 350 Automatic Transmission.
33" bfg KM2 tires on FJ cruiser wheels with 400 miles including spare (set of 5).
Loc-Right Lockers in Front and Rear Differentials (rear locker is on it's way out...slips occasionally under hard throttle. These retail for $400 bucks).

I’m a new member looking for a 76-84 fj40, I have found 2 within reasonable distance ( one 5 hrs away and one 7), that seem to suit what I’m looking for. Of course being so far away and being what they are I am not buying without looking it over. If anybody is around Nashville, TN and maybe able to get a look at the one at Auto Pro I would appreciate it, they have pics up on their site but not if they underside or under the floor mats.

I have a 1977 FJ40 project that I will be selling. It has been in a barn since the last 1980's. Needs outside rocker panels and a rear sill. Otherwise the tub is very solid. The frame looks great and has no rust issues. The rear of the frame is perfect. The chassis has v8 engine with downey conversion in it. Original transfer case, 4-speed transmission, and disc brake axles. It comes with hardtop, front seats, rear bench seat, and roll. It was pulled apart for the v8 conversion in 1988 and has been in pieces since. This is a great restoration project for a Midwest truck. Here are a few photos of the tub. More photos available. I'm putting my 78' 40 up for sale. I've had it for about 11 years and have really enjoyed it. I'm just too busy to play with my toys anymore so it should go to someone that has the time. I know every add says this but it really is a great candidate for a resto. Very little rust. Has been repainted to the dark blue from the original smurph blue at some point prior to my ownership. 4wd works, shift well. I believe the rear drums need new shoes. The PO did drill small holes in the top to mount speakers but other than those the top is in pretty good shape. The drip rail only has surface rust. I'm asking $13K. I’m selling my very original and rare 1982 Toyota Landcruiser FJ40 w/POWER STEERING and Only 140,000 Original Miles - Drives excellent, 4 Speed Transmission is smooth and strong and the vehicle has just a little rust here and there, definitely less than most FJ40's! Additionally, Brakes and Clutch are solid and so is the 4wd!
