I’ve been doodling this morning and here is my radiator mockup drawing. If this is possible the core will be 26” x 17” with dual, 12” 1870 cfm Spal fans.
I am very pleased with the engine placement thus far as I have 5.5” of room for the...
I’m dropping off my styrofoam mock up tank at the fabrication shop tomorrow! I went with a bolt on style in tank fuel pump stand with a Walbro 255 LPH pump and a standalone cylinder floatless style sending unit from Tanks, Inc. The stand has a...
Ryan, GLWS. I HAVE TO SAY I’m A BIT BUMMED. REALLY WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING YOUR BUILD COME TOGETHER. It would be nice to see a build thread on your next project.
I’ve decide to go with a different direction on my 40 build. Selling the rolling chassis as is. I will not part it out. Here are the details:
- 1973 Fj40 chassis stretched 12”
- one ton axles from a Ford F-350 with trusses and high steer on front...
Back to the drawing board. I made my radio pigtail too short and I accidentally pulled a few wires out of the plug as I was tracking down the reason for losing power to my trailer brake controller. At least I can reroute a few other wires that I...
I got it figured out. Turn signal are functioning with the GM plug to the Toyota column turn signal switch. I will post up a schematic of it. Now all I need to do is figure out the hazards and brake lights. Thanks again.
Thanks guys. I have reviewed those. Still confusing regarding which Toyota wire from the steering column correlates with the GM plug. I was able to get the rear turn signals to function properly but stuck there. Getting close and was wondering if...
Can anyone ID these wires from the turn switch of a 78’ fj40 for me. I’m doing a new chassis harness from American autowire. I have searched a ton and still not great. success. Thanks.
Here is a quick video of the engine wiring. It’s almost done! I will be working inside the Cruiser tomorrow and I am planning to build a bracket to hold the electronics in the glove box, then finish the wiring under the dash.
Not a whole lot going on with the build. I have't worked on ole lockjaw in about five months. Had a lot of other things going on. My sons 92 Toyota pickup had a blown headgasket and the head had a crack in it. My daughters VW Tiguan need a ton of...
You probably already solved it but I’ve put roughly a 5 degree bend in all the front pan hard bars I’ve done, just to clear the differential cover. Chock it up in a tube bender and give it a little push
