Also installed a set of Power Stop drilled and slotted rotors with their Extreme Carbon Fiber Ceramic pads. This is probably the 10th set I installed. Never had one warp after following the break in procedure, but have read others complain about that.

Loosely followed a few guides on fitting larger tires and it’s mostly rub free. Have a little more finessing on the passenger side mud flap but overall I’m happy.

Stay out of the mud with cross-drilled rotors. Ask me how I know :o

Have had any fail yet, but then again, IH8MUD and tend to clean things immediately if I get them muddy.

Did they cake up and warp because the mud was left in there?

Basically had to disassemble the brakes and hand clean with picks and brushes and scrwedrivers to get all the crud out or the holes. I've also had the holes catch and hold onto pebbles. No issues with warping though--I cleaned them pretty much after my first drive because it became clear the mud had thrown my wheel/rotating assembly off balance. This was after burying myself up to the bumper/rocker in a mud pit that was hidden under fresh snow at a construction site. I also had Powerstop--good brand.

are you running a spare while wheeling? Tire setup looks nice!

I purchased a full size spare as well, but have not had a chance to try to fit it.

The install project got cut short. Had to take one of the kids to Urgent Care for strep throat while I was still finessing the plastics.

Will try again this weekend. Going to deflate the spare and use a ratchet strap to smush it down.

Also need to install my new skid plates.

I would hate to be a passenger in the middle row. Looks like you get a cheek exfoliated off if I hit a bump.

Took another picture in a 4 Diamond parking lot today. Had to put it in Hi Mode to make it over a speed bump. Almost spilled my chai latte

Please keep me updated on the deflated and ratchet strap method. I know some GX guys did it with succes so hopefully it works for you. Ide like to squeeze put a tiny more than 34.5 on the spare!

Did a little more clearancing and took it over to my ditch test area.

Was surprised that there was no rubbing when it was fully articulated.

Still need to tweak the front mudflaps but this sucker just gobbles up those 35”s.

How does the gearing feel with the 35s?
Still faster than my GX470 on 33"s lol

I have not really been pushing it or towing so I can't say for sure, but it holds gears just fine at highway speeds.

did you test it while also full locked left or right while articulated? lol
I have not yet, want to eff with the front mud flaps then will take it to Barnwell Mountain for a shakedown.

Well… we had a mobile detailer come to the house the Thursday before Labor Day to clean a few vehicles. About 20 minutes after I paid the guy, my wife walked into my office and casually informed me that he had attempted to jump-start the LX with jumper cables, there were sparks everywhere, and apparently he managed to burn himself in the process.

Not exactly the complimentary service I was expecting.

I went outside and immediately found the LX in limp mode, the dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree, and the electronic brakes had apparently decided they were no longer interested in participating.

Fast forward three weeks now, and our family adventure rig/camper hauler is still sitting at the Lexus dealer while they continue to throw parts at it.

As a result, we’ve basically been benched for most of the summer. Hopefully she’ll be home next week and we can get back to using it for what it was built for.

Naturally, as my patience wore thinner and the dealers sense of urgency disappeared, I did what any rational 200 series lover would do…

I started shopping for another 200.

Last weekend I stumbled across this one-owner Nebula Pearl Gray/black interior LX with 36k miles, spotless Carfax, immaculate history.

So… we accidentally bought it.

The plan now is to keep both. The 2011 can continue its progression toward becoming the trail toy it always wanted to be, while this one gets the cushy life. It’ll probably get a supercharger, maybe some 33s, and otherwise spend its days pretending it’s far too bougie to see dirt.
