I have a 1971 FJ40 that is rust free. It has been sitting for 10 years with a blown F motor. I put an F motor in it and got it running again. All it needs to be road worthy is the brakes to be gone thru. It is all stock(un-cut fenders,3 on the tree, hubcaps, original paint etc..) I already have 3 other cruisers and we are expecting a baby and won't have time to work on it anymore. I am looking to get $5,500 for it but will entertain all offers. Ive had enough of my landcruiser, basically its pissed me off one too many times so im selling it to the highest bidder. I've just painted it (yellow), with a fibreglass bonnet, cut out, treated and patched up all the rust, replaced the windscreen and seal, cleaned up the interior (carpeted, painted etc)
basically ive always looked after it, serviced it, it looks nice, it has a new alternator and reconditioned starter, clutch slave cyl, runs really well,
however i am sick and tired of the fxxxing electrics fxxxing up, edic control arm wont work (electrical) and the temp guage wiring is rooted, i cant work that one out either and i cant be bothered anymore. Also has a cracked rear door handle on the swing up door.

this is a good rig all around. it is 100 percent stock and not kidized. it does need a new wiring harness $350 from painless and minor minor rust repair below the doors on the seam. it is stock suspension and 31" tires with new american eagle wheels 15x8. hard top rebuilt 2f motor with new ccot radiator. asking 5500-6000

I bought this truck from So. Cal about 18 months ago. It was completely stripped down and painted Mustard yellow and has an excellent body. This was left original, with the spotweld detents and all. Paint is nearly perfect, except that there are a few bubbles in the corners of front doors and around rim of tub. These are surface only and a spot blaster and touch up will suffice.

I have a 71 fj40 that would make a great project. I bought it last year and then found another one and just dont need 2. Its in pieces but more than complete. It has a professionally rebuilt 350 in it, with all AA brackets for engine and trans. Its a 3 speed in the floor, but the transmission isnt in it. Trans and t case still attached but not installed. Power brakes were gone through and new shoes and wheel cylinders before I bought it. I have all the interior and the seats are in great shape. The hard top is in perfect shape. The body isnt rusted bad at all, the pics show the rust. The floor boards have a small amount of rust, but not rusted through. Im sure i have forgot alot, so just email for more pics and questions. The drivers door has a little rust on the bottom - I hate body work so I coated it with zero rust - under the rear diamond plate are two quarter size holes ground out and coated with zero rust...

I have decided that I need to thin the fleet which right now is 6 vehicles for the two of us. I can put the insurance and tax savings into the remaining ones. Therefore, I am putting my 1976 FJ40 up for sale. It is Olive Brown and has been repainted by PO. The paint looks good from a distance but is not creampuff. It has the standard hard top and ambulance doors. Engine rebuilt at 157800; it now has a little more than 161000. All new hoses, belts, filters. New clutch kit, new clutch master and slave, new exhaust. Newer (by PO) brake booster, radiator, OME steering stabilizer. Upgraded to a 1985 Toyota electronic distributor and ignitor. Brand new brakes front and back. New drums on the front, and shoes and cylinders all the way around.
Just had the booster rebuilt last week, stops great.
Front and rear heaters work really good. New heater hoses on the rear heater and brand new SOR defrost ducts on the front.
All the lights work properly, turn signals cut off when the wheel returns to center, ect.
Parking brake works good.

Well I am new to this forum and have been trying to get back into a Land Cruiser. I had a 70 FJ40 and sold it :whoops: for financial reasons a few years ago and have regreted it ever since. I have had solid axle 4runners, deluxe pickups, tacoma's and a slew of chevies and nothing compared to it so I am now looking for another. I am in the north jersey area, dont have a mint to spend, and am not afraid of a rotted shell. I prefer a hardtop, and as close to stock as possible, but that isnt important.
