About the 40:
It has a running 2F with less than 40K miles since the rebuild. 3spd trans, Front drum brakes, Solid drivetrain. Clean title.
The tub is pretty much shot. As the pics show, it was "converted" into a pickup many moons ago. Therefore all the rain just collected in the floor. Also, the gas tank is out of it due to a rust hole in it. The frame appears to be solid though. And the hood is actually in real good shape. I have a borrowed starter off of a friends FJ55 on it now so that you can hear it run, but it is not in with the deal. Anyway, I am asking $750 OBO for it.

There's not a whole lot left of this one but somebody may need it. It is a 1973 with a 2F motor in it that is locked up. It has a decent roll bar, tub is ok, front and rear ends, no transmission or transfer case, has a hood that can be used but not great.
$150 or some kind of trade?? Bring your trailer and come get it.

I bought and rebuilt the Cruiser while in high school and have owned it for over eleven years. It runs extremely well for its age and has never had a major issue since it was rebuilt. I’ve put approximately 20,000 miles on it since the full mechanical re-build. At the time every major component such as engine and transmission were professionally rebuilt and most of the minor stuff such as the fuel pump, gaskets, etc. were replaced with new parts.

1978 FJ40 Landcruiser - Newberg Oregon
This has been the shop stocker for Metal-tech for the last two years. I need to thin the herd as I have two 78’s stockers now.
2F stock 1978 motor runs real strong. Has a brand new Jim C (Best carb builder in the US for cruisers) rebuilt factory carb tuned for power. ($350) The truck has been desmoged by a previous owner. It has a two part header with dual exhaust. Patronix electronic ignition, (no points!). Again the motor is real strong and runs cool. No idea of miles.

i am looking for a fj40 for my uncle. he lives in the bay area and im in morro bay (central coast) so anywhere in between there would be perfect. he is looking for anything that can handle some easy driving. the most extreme off road he will be doing (at this point in time anyways) will be driving in the dunes. he is looking for something $2-3k or less. the only restrictions is that it has to be street legall and running. we dont want to have to do anything more than a tune up or maintainance. please let me knwo if you have one for sale or if you come across any. we are trying to aviod ebay but it the deal is good enough.....

This ride runs great and the body is in good shape with very minimal rust. Original engine and transmission/transfer were replaced with the engine and transmission/transfer case from a 1978. Engine was rebuilt about 15 years/12K miles ago. Interior bucket/floor has been Rhino coated. The interior is in great shape with original roll bars and jump seats with harnesses.
