I understand where you are at in the mind.
Looking good brother!
That said, any chance your budget can swing ceramic coating for the exhaust manifold? Not cheap, but it looks absolutely just like it did when we put it on on the 3B/Turbo. And I know that engine has pushed 1200 degrees EGT for a solid 20 minutes at a stretch a couple times, so if it will hold up to that, I'm sure it will hold up to just about anything.
In contrast, we have a few bits that I painted with the VHT (and cured in our oven) that have not held up quite as well.
Dan
Ceramic coating might be in the cards if I can find someone local who can swing it. For a city like ATL, it's amazing how weak the "industrial" support infrastructure is.
Do those go bad? My donors with 175K on them looked identical after a through cleaning
Thanks Brother Diesel Dan!

Ferrous Toyota parts: Are Today's parts produced with the same metallurgy and ore suppliers as when manufactured in the 1980's? If not, can Toyota honestly call it an OE part? Is it not, in part, the metallurgy that makes these rigs so special?
