It'd be my honor and fitting for this beauty to be crowned with a relatively mundane, but well traveled, NIB NOS, semi-shimmering crown.

I intend to ship this back with the alternator core, today, but have lost all contacts, so need your address, again.

I refuse to be denied this small joy, so don't attempt to dissuade.

I've sat here for two full hours this morning, staring at my first love and former beauty queen, caressing her now disfigured form, that you have as much involvement in building as I, sawzall in hand.

I can not bring myself to cutting her up, even though there is no other alternative.

Deeply depressed while being so pissed at myself, I may turn the sawzall the other way, I can think of no other joy I may find in this day ( I didn't say Saturday night ) possible than to pass this along, as I know you'll always remember it as expressed gratitude "on the day Delancy didn't have the balls to put his own horse down."

WOW.

That's a kind gesture Chris, you don't have to do that man.

I understand where you are at in the mind, but you can surely have a good use for that on another project someday.

And besides, I just had mine powder coated recently.

And I know for a fact your Saturday nights are **way** more interesting than mine ever will be. ;)

Looking good brother!

That said, any chance your budget can swing ceramic coating for the exhaust manifold? Not cheap, but it looks absolutely just like it did when we put it on on the 3B/Turbo. And I know that engine has pushed 1200 degrees EGT for a solid 20 minutes at a stretch a couple times, so if it will hold up to that, I'm sure it will hold up to just about anything.

In contrast, we have a few bits that I painted with the VHT (and cured in our oven) that have not held up quite as well.

Thanks Brother Diesel Dan!

Ceramic coating might be in the cards if I can find someone local who can swing it. For a city like ATL, it's amazing how weak the "industrial" support infrastructure is.

Oh yeah, OshKosh was your previous location when we were txting. :)

LoOking good Onur. Like the song says "One thing leads to another" - dont we know it!

Looking good Onur. Wish I was there to continue my help.

BTW, my order has changed. I need more! Will contact shortly.

Not "local", but just up the road in Nashville... http://nitroplate.com/

Looks like $180 to ceramic coat. Well worth it IMO. My MAF ceramic coated headers have held up great. Other than darkening a little, and getting some grime on them, they look like they did when new. So far about six years/ 50K miles on them.

The intake will hold up to the VHT.

Do those go bad? My donors with 175K on them looked identical after a through cleaning

I don't think whether they are good or bad has crossed my mind in this build.

:)

That said, I have not taken my old rocker assy apart yet to check and inspect.

Regardless, have new rocker arms, new rocker shaft and supports.

In the end, Onur, yours will be a pretty epic build. All these new parts, balancing, all new machine work. Let me know when the install party is, I owe you one.

Ferrous Toyota parts: Are Today's parts produced with the same metallurgy and ore suppliers as when manufactured in the 1980's? If not, can Toyota honestly call it an OE part? Is it not, in part, the metallurgy that makes these rigs so special?

If all else fails, you can ship them for ceramic costing.

Bingo!

Engine parts like those rocker supports are probably NOS from the 80's.
How many people you know that have bought them? Besides Onur? :hillbilly:
