Going to try driving mine today after 7 weeks of it sitting there sad waiting for me to heal from shoulder surgery. Shoulder finally seems to be OK enough I think I can shift a manual transmission at least for a few minutes to town and back.

Put the hubcaps on, half doors, ordered, a license plate. So ready for a drive, it's been a long wait.

Painted the shifters and hit the inside of my rocker with rust converter. Was hoping to take it for a spin, but learned that I need to change my pinion flanges to work with my 4-spd drive shafts. Should have expected this given the amount of reading I've done. Oh well...Maybe next weekend!

I've been scrambling to quickly finish reviving my daughter's 72. We bought it two years ago for her 16th birthday, and I've had to back burner it, until our 80 died.
So the front disc conversion is complete, but the 94 runner master cylinder i used needed to be torn apart and cleaned up. I tried bleeding brakes and wasn't getting anywhere.
I have an HEI dizzy coming; supposedly Tuesday. The carb is rebuilt, The stainless scrap exhaust is ready for a muffler. I have my fingers crossed that I can get it to run well enough to return my coworker's subaru and stop borrowing that POS.
I'd be building hinges, but I'm waiting on my machinist...

I bought new tires for my wife's 4runner a few months ago and it still gives the garage that "oder de tires." We'll need pics when you get 'em mounted on those steelies.

Just finished the front knuckle rebuild. Top trunion bearings were toast-I mean shredded--don't know why the tops went south but the bottoms were still intact(not serviceable, but intact). Axle seals were gone, of course(reason for the rebuild) All new bearings, plus Marlin seals--replaced the tie/relay rods, plus the drag link-w/ends. Steering box seal needed replacement, but couldn't get the pitman arm off-gonna try some wedges to see if it will budge--

Got my top on this weekend
Many (national chain) tire stores will refuse to marry that size tire to the 5.5" wide OEM wheel due to tire manufacturer's recommendations and 2015 liability. Discount/American stopped about 3 years ago and Costco/Walmart started the trend.
I'm sure it's not news to you, but you need a shop owner with an old-school appreciation for hobbiests.
Pretty much finished the drive train and suspension on my 76 fj40. Rebuilt the steering knuckles and replaced the wheel bearing this weekend. Now the real fun begins replacing the front fenders, rear sill and quarter panels I picked up from CCOT last week and prep for painting.

I was planning to widen the wheels like @GA Architect did on his OEM steelie rims widened out to 9" to hold the new 33X12.50X15

Machined my parking brake drum. It really needed it!
I am tracing electrical throughout my 40. The PO had many aftermarket add ons (Stereo, alarm etc...)
