Spent part of the day "In a Cruiser...down by the river!" in a Chris Farley voice.

Found these while cleaning, an Australian coin & possibly a church donation envelope where it was placed in under the jack holder in my HJ45. It was soaked with oil/dirt crud.
I want to think it's been there since the 80's.

Went from old to new:

Love it... Saw these that JetRanger showed a few weeks ago, this is the first I have seen installed and WOW!! Looks great! Nice job... Was it a hard install??

Sorry, no pictures yet... I installed a Tuffy Box in my 40 and put some new mirrors on the outside... Not sure I like those however... Will drive and see... Love the Tuffy box for sure though... Next project is looking like rear disc brakes... So many things and not enough time...

Thanks! Time consuming install, but not extremely difficult if you have some electrical knowledge. I have a good friend who's an electrical guru and it was very easy to him. It's a sharp unit!

I love finding old stuff like that. How long have you owned the HJ?

new NGK plugs/points/wires/rotor/cap. Cleaned all the fuse block contacts---what a difference!

Landed my stalking fantasy (have checked on it everyday for 6 years)...neighbor finally decided it was time to sell.
New CCOT tank, changed the wheels from obnoxious 10" wagons to something more fitting, bled the brakes, soaked the engine that had not started in 10yrs and wala.....the third 40 in my fleet. Bone stock, except for the suspension/wheels/tires 77 FJ40

Is that the one that is/was on Bob O Link Drive?

Coasted into the quickie mart and spent the morning installing my new Pertronix electronic ignition module. And no, I don't usually do my installations 50 miles from my garage and tools and no, as it turns out it wasn't the points and condenser that went south after all. Turns out it was the external resistor for the coil. Ended up having to replace the coil with an internal resistor model from NAPA - thank goodness the guy behind the counter knew his business - their data bank didn't show an internal resistor model for a 72 TLC but he knew what would work. Kudos to the wifey for pulling all my tools off the wall, going through my parts bins and driving 50 miles to bring me the stuff I needed to do the repairs. I didn't get any wheeling or paddling in, but I made lots of new friends at the quickie mart!
