maybe Aisin ?

they sell on Amazon - I bought a fan clutch for the 80 from them - the first one had the Aisin stamp, the second one didn't (just a blank in the stamp spot - I sent that one back, got the refund, done - could have been the right one, but I didn't want to open and drain it only to find it's not what I wanted)

Cool! I had no idea they sold on Amazon!

Mounts

Very nice. Please tell us what mounts you used, slotting, shims, etc. Seems like there is a difference between installations in this regard.

On the 3fe block kept the stock mounting brackets. On the passenger side used the stock engine mount for an FJ62. On the driver side used a FJ40 mount (not the round style, but the square style), that I modified with a shim. I cut the shim out of 3/16 plate to match the top of the engine mount and the bottom of the stock 3fe mounting brackets. The shim was tack welded to the top of the FJ40 mount, to keep the mount from turning once installed. Hope that answers your question. :)

Met up with another Mudder to buy his lightly used 33x10.50 BFG KM2s on ATX Mojave 15x8 rims. Replaced my 35x12.50s in order to reduce the height by an inch so that my FST bows can fit in my garage. Added benefits were improved steering(less wandering/tracking in ruts) and better acceleration. The back is not sagging; just the driveway slope.

Thanks Mark! Good luck with the search for a 100 series.

Towed the 1980 fj40 from the house in Fl we are going to sell, to its new garage in Nc mountains where it WILL get fixed up and used. My son got it running and everything needed to drive it working then the brakes master went out, so luckily the clutch in low gears held enough to control the speed while rolling it off the ramp.

Finally separated my tcase and tranny. After hunting for a puller with no luck I came up with a new use for my '40 and ratchet straps. Luckily my splines are in really good shape.

Did a quick install of new Roundeyes headlights this afternoon - still need to wire up some switch-bypass relays, but the difference is already impressive.

New axles!! Woo!!! Wooo!!!

This cost me a 30 pack and a quart of moonshine just to talk a buddy who owns a salvage yard out of selling this on the online network and letting me have it as part of the good ole boy club. Mission accomplished...............However, I think this will cost me far too much in the long run!!

Front and rear axles off a late 90's (I think 97 but not sure) FJ80 with e-lockers!! I will put them under my 78 and like the benefits of FF axle, 4 wheel disc brakes, e-lockers, and wider stance. I'll be having a scotch pretty soon after I power wash these off!!:cheers: Now I just have to figure out how to get them under there!! Research. Research.

I don't think there is an application, it is just a universal pump that makes 14-16psi

I have been attempting to figure out a way to modify the throttle shaft assembly on my 1981 FJ45 to make the spring powerful enough to stop the damn thing roaring at 4000rpm when idling...

I don't think the assembly is standard and the one off the old F engine FJ45 doesn't fit.

Has anyone encountered this problem or know what the original ones look like?
