To stop the growling from the front of the engine I replaced a perfectly good water pump for $60 , then replaced the defective Alternator (luckily under warranty) then to solve the sudden loss of charging, I replaced a perfectly good 35 year old voltage regulator for $20 only to find a $0.60 fuse was the culprit. At least now it is quite, charging and I have a spare water pump, and voltage regulator…I really have to improve my diagnostic skills.

put the doors back on and decided i'd install those brass door bushings that i've had in a little baggie for a few months, PITA. Super duper compression fit!
i was getting ready to do just that.. good to know.. any tips?.. or should i stick with oem plastic and get new ones every few yrs..

Do yourself a favor and fold the windshield down to get better hammer access to the top hinge pins. I'll have to repaint because I didn't.
I also squirted a bunch of lube on the pin and into the hinges. Took me about an hour to get all four pins in. Also, take the doors off the hinges, makes it all far easier than trying to balance the door and use a hammer. I've got the black thumb to prove this.
I'm retarded though and thought this would only take five minutes...
- replaced coolant with toyota red
- got a spare and getting it powdercoated to hopefully match my other four
- took the top off - installed the eyelets in the top
- made sure the 4wheel drive works

Sent it to the shop to get the motor rebuilt. And ordered a lift kit and new seat covers to put in on my next leave.
Finished my rear disc conversion. Man does this thing stop well now!
After a week of dealing with my college screwing up my stuff I finally got the wiring done (took 2 1/2 days of actual work) and checked the lights on just battery. Not bad on the low beam setting for some 30+ year old GE bulbs, I'm sure the fact that I used all my spare 10 gauge wiring for the headlights (14 gauge for turn signals and bib lights) helped in keeping resistance super low. Also drained and filled the entire driveline, installed auxillary oil/water/volt gauges, made a battery tray, and now I just need to put a radiator in and run exhaust so that I can drive my budget FJ.
In stalled a 10si alternator, wired it up as others have done and found it would start, charge.....but not shut off with the key. Hmmm. Did a little "creative wiring" and now it works oh so smoothly. If anyone wants to know I did my wiring on my '67 fj40, PM me and I will hook you up. Now I'am ready for the "WOW"(Wheelers of Washington) poker run coming up next month......My rigs first trip out. I'm ready to see what my three years of bloody knuckles and sleepless nightd was for.

went and LOOKED at my fj40 this week, still at the bodyshop............will only been there 5 weeks, on June 1
he was doing final sanding on the hood, said i should get it by next friday

I ordered hundreds of dollars of stuff for it and am not done yet
Beach time ,so 2 Bazooka sub woofers and a small amplifier help for the tunes up in the bikini area show room....
Sanded down any and all rust spots that I could see on the body, and then painted over them with RustSeal...
Going to replace the window channels, and remove the remainder of the carpet.
