took the doors off and zip-tied a small circle blind spot mirror to the windshield frame to make it all legal.

Actually it was last week, but...

My brother and I took my cruiser to the family farm in the Missouri Ozarks. About 800 miles of driving, about 300 in the rain. I ran it pretty hard while we were there--pulling out trees and exploring the old logging roads. The Ozarks are fantastic this time of year.

Got the windshield finished, spread 25 yards of mulch yesterday for the get out of jail card so Monday I get to work on it - rollcage and welding, install the windows for the hardtop and enjoy looking at it all over again.

went by the paint shop, and looked at my fj40, hoods off, fender apron off, sanding here and there, i pulled the rear jump seats, really thinking about installing a heap rear seat, someone gave me...............hmmmmmmmm
painter said, he would try to be finished by next friday........it's only been a month next TUESDAY..........but who's counting.......

and he pulled the dash pad, trying to decide to have it recovered, by my local upholstery shop for 40 clams, or buy a new dash cover...........any suggestions????????//

Added some cig-lighter power plugs in the radio hole in the dash and wired headlights on relays.

After kicking ideas around for weeks I finaly got some work in and made some brakets up and mounted a second altenator, installed a second AGM battery under the passenger seat, made a wiring loom and installed the 2nd voltage regulator, connected it all up(shorted out my good socket ratchet now my crappy ratchet) and took it for a spin. all works fine.
Then I got back and dug into the whole body with an angle grinder and left a large pile of bog, in dust on the floor. I feel kind of liberated
and now beer!!!!!!!

Completed adding power steering to my '71 that lead to re-wiring the turn signals and brake lights to work with the '78 steering column that I used. Also had relays installed in the headlight wiring. Things are a lot brighter now.

Looking really good man! I love bright yellow! Are those aluminum rims painted black, or steel wheels?

They are aluminum rims that I had powdercoated, 40 bucks a piece beat buying new rims...

OME 2.5" Lift installation

Hi all - long time reader - first post. Just completed installation of the Old Man Emu lift kit - went pretty quick (about 6 hours) and looks great. I not sure if I recieved the 2.5" lift I ordered, because it seems quite high, but I'm not complaining. Instal was very straight forward, and the staff at Man-A-Fre was super helpful when I had a question.

well...so far this weekend i have welded up my cage, started to build the seat mounts, built a rear bumper and...i think that covers it, still got tomorrow though! gunna see if i can get that bumper mounted and mount some seats as well

That's 2 1/2" over new stock, could be 3 - 4" over your tired old stock springs.

Put on an old hood so I could fix mine where a tree limb fell on it from the storm last week. Was going to paint the whole thing any way so now is as good a time to start as any.

Starting the job of rebuilding my rear frame. I am stumped on my rear shackles though. If anyone reading this knows the tube/pipe diameter of a stock rear shackle hanger.. i am all ears. I have already purchased new poly bushings and greasable pins and I would like to use them. If I dont get an answer, I guess I might just use over sized yubes and buy another set of bushings.
