Got a "Windjammer" curtain from a guy at work for FREE! I installed my hand throttle and took her for a drive in 15 degree weather.

scored a nice set of premo FJ62 springs so decided to tackle the saggy ass of my 42. always though the leaf packs out back didnt look right (only had truck a few months) and it sat low, upon closer inspection i saw 2 of the leafs were removed and replaced with 1 thick fat one that did nothing.

took the 62 spring and put it in to see just how too long it would be... well moved wheelbase about 2" back but had a horrible shackle angle from being to long and not something i wanted to tackle. so i pulled 62 rear packs apart and pulled the 2 leafs out that were the best match in length to the 2 missing leafs in the 42 packs (seen by grooves wore into other leafs) put them in the pack and put it all back together.
and....

looks like i gained about an inch of height and it sits nearly level now, not a huge dif in looks but quite noticeable to me, and now the tires dont hit the fenders when just driving down the road. im much happier for quite a while now.

oh and a couple weeks ago i welded and rigged me up a new passenger battery hold down since part of it rusted in half.

Took 2nd place in the Wheelers 4 Wishes Show & Shine Stock class in Pasadena on Saturday.

Sunday used it to go get my Christmas tree.

Got some nice bezels in today for my gauges (haven't decided which way to align them yet), got a pair of revolvers for 50 dollars (undecided on running them but can sell them to a friend if I don't want them for what I paid), and started stripping the 74 I'm building for my dad.

Hard Top

2 Day Hard Top "Restoration"...Really more like scrape the rust and paint with Rustoleum Camo Tan super flat rattle can. Looks darn good for spray paint and held up extremely well to scratching and branches first trip out.

A true hard top resto is in the future, but it was 28 degrees and I wanted to go wheeling. It's fully functional now, new handle on the back and finished painting the doors too.

Starting on sunday, a shackle reversal, spring over and lengthened driveshafts... Oh ya and rear disk breaks.... Still need to plumb brakes and swap the master tomorrow.

Rebuilt the truck avenger carb, new paint job, new rear guard cut, new tailgate, removed body lift and test fitted the old soft top that came with it for the first time. Not really very happy with it as it kills so much vision.

Next week should be new 75 series front springs in her to push the diffs out a bit and fix the shackle angles.

Send the top and I'll stick some windows in it for you.....

Bought a 76 FJ40 because my 72 has been garage bound for a long long time. Gave it a tuneup (new air filter, oil filter, oil change, plugs, etc.),
replaced the plastic tubing to the oil gauge with copper, put in a heater (yet to be tested), drove it some. This weekend going off-road!
