New tires. Went with Yokohama 255/85-16. I was sweating bullets that she would still fit in the garage, but she made it with a little room to spare. :)

Nice….😎

”A Game of Inches”….

I added another car seat and gave a kid her first ride in a car without a top. It was awesome.

Finally got my yakima bars on the 40 the other day. Now I can take some surfboards to the beach without them looking goofy hangin out the back. I had to buy these two inch spacers to get them to work. my heart is really set on a soft top soon but one of those Gamiviti roof baskets would be really nice. Are they still in business?

Its been really fun latley with the summer weather. Makes me want another one haha. This is how it all starts... you get one and next thing you know you have 10.

continuing to put things back together on my 40 after much headache with stabbing the tranny.
I got tired of the straps being so loose on the drivers seat under tool box. So I got some vacuum plugs cut the ends off and slit it down the middle long ways and put them on the latch loops. Now they are nice and tight.

Drove it today for the first time. Pics of the day I bought it in 2021, and today.

My fuel gauge has been working intermittently for a couple months. A couple taps on the gauge cluster would usually fix it but this hasn't worked the last couple of drives. So today I tore apart the cluster and cleaned every contact I could find. Turned out the ground tab on the back of the fuel gauge itself wasn't doing it's job. Probably hasn't been cleaned since it was built in 76 so it got a good sandpapering and I made sure it had a good contact. Problem solved, working great now. Also took this opportunity to repaint the needles back to the original orange from the faded, glow in the dark green that I painted them back in the 90s. Hopefully my girlfriend won't notice that I stole some of her hideous fingernail paint!

So while waiting on parts to get the 40 finally running with its transplant 2f.
I decided to remove the 4:11 gears and install some 3:73’s I had in the garage. Removed the old unit cleaned up the new unit and painted it.
Cleaned the third member mating surface.

How are you liking those Kenda Klevers?

Pumped some gas out of its tank to mow the lawn with. I'm tied up for the time being and not able to do anything with it. :(

Yeah, after watching @wngrog install them on his builds I had these I figure why not.
Yes looking forward to see what feels like.
Then replace the suspension with some Dobinsons.
