More spring pics!

I removed a leaf from my rear OME CS002r to soften the ride a bit. Made a big difference.

I want to remove a leaf from the front to level it out a bit but need to figure out my front spring situation. I have a SR, but recently put on OEM shackles to reduce height. The shackles are pinned against the frame. I am thinking I need shorter springs. Need to talk to @lcwizard and some other LC geniuses for input.

@FixedIt , If the shackle reversal is a man-a-fre kit and was installed right , the distance between the frame eyes, front to back,
is the same as stock. I'm familiar with it since I designed it in 1996. An OME spring shouldn't be too short if the shackle is about 3 1/2"
pin to pin. The distance between the two pin centers on the front is ~42 1/8, center of the front hanger pin to the frame shackle pin center.
Generally a 2 1/2" spring is about 1/2" longer than stock thus the need for a longer shackle such as the one provided by OME. Go back to an OME or other extended length shackle, 3/4" over stock, and pull the bottom leaf up front . With a soft top and not much weight in the back ,
you may end up pulling two

@lcwizard thank you so much for your brilliant input! Makes me feel like I'm at least going in a straight line and not in a circle.

Will keep y'all posted.

Not all this week - but over a relatively short period of time -

Installed my Con-Ferr rear bench.

Designed some brackets and had them fabricated at a local shop so I can install shoulder belts for my boys (6 and 4 and 1) to ride in the back (notice they’re drilled so belts can be moved up as they grow).

Finally bought some OEM steelies and had 33 BFGs installed! Just need to mount them up!

Rebuilt the carb, adjusted the choke and the timing. Runs amazing now. Flushed the coolant system, which was way more time consuming than I expected, and for the first time in 22 years of marriage I parked 2 cars in the garage at the same time!

Haha in the same boat as you. Married 17 years and for the first time I have two vehicles in the garage.

Two vehicles will fit in the garage... the most I’ve had in mine was one and a hot tub. Recently I’d be lucky to get one in. Cleaning the garage always comes after the honey do list.
