My PO cut off that tab from the windshield for some reason. Pretty sure it’s not rust but now I want to double check.

Driver's side pretty much done. Might pull and tighten the seat back vinyl a bit, but that's not too difficult.

I started my FJ60 power steering conversion. I made a bit of a boo boo in that I bought a FJ55 column because I read it made the job easier but I didn't see that I needed a '74+ column until I had already paid for an older style that had the ignition switch on the dash. Here is what I'm after, a splined shaft that doesn't require scabbing or grafting:
here you can see that the early style -55 steering rod is slightly different dimensionally from the later style -40 rod (It was also .035" larger in OD).
Undeterred, I took some measurements of the inner shaft and decided I could still make it work. First, I had to remove a raised area at the bottom of the -55 shaft so the bearing I got from Cruiser Outfitters could slide past:
I also had to turn down the OD of the shaft where it rides in the upper ball bearing at the ignition lock. A few minutes on the lathe and it works like a champ!

Installed a new electric heater valve and replaced all of the heater hoses still need to put the heater back in.

Then removed the Holley 2 barrel and installed the Holley Sniper EFI unit. A pretty easy 1
or maybe 2 install. The main knowledge needed would be to understand the electrical system to wire in the EFI unit. Now time to just drive and enjoy it.

What is an electric heater valve?
It is just a heater bypass valve that has a 12v motor rheostat controlled to open and close the valve for a more controlled flow and it will completely isolate the heater and still flow coolant to the engine. https://www.ecklerstrucks.com/chevy-truck-bypass-heater-control-valve-electronic-64-83.html

Project new seat covers has started, since i have had my FJ i have wanted to change out the seat covers so i tackled that today. Little more challenging that i thought but got the front seats done and very happy with it. CCOT Grey Covers, now on to the jump seats.
