so , .............................................:poof:

i was having some driavbility problems , hesitation on acceleration , on hills up down

after like 20+ hours of diagnostic time i traced to a fuel starvation issue , either sucking air or the pickup tube is clogged ?

i gave some deeeeep thought and came up with this remedy : :hmm:

- i used 1/8 thick solid brass plate

- 5/16 copper nickle allow tubing ,

- #56 100% troy weight silver Brazed the two together

- i held the tube 1/2 " off up the bottom of the tank floor sump

- started up after a new OEM fuel, filter 23100-38010

- also installer 6 new 4mm screws & a new OEM flange gasket

the truck runs and drives normally now , only down side is Not having a fuel guage ,

this is a temporary repair till i can source a good used tank for a 1/79

Done that bf on an old isuzu truck I have. Ended-up being the heat valve on the air cleaner intake not closing and freezing-up the carb. Would drive me crazy in the winter. Run along the interstate to work. Fall on it's face pull-over the 5 minutes and the engine heat would thaw the ice and I could go another 15 miles. Service shop finally found it after a year.

Took stuff apart to then put the same back in...but done right and hopefully leak free.

Rebuilt a spare sm465 adding new input and main shaft. Output drilled and tapped. Orion torn down getting new seals / gaskets. Curse the shade tree that uses ****ing silicon on everything.

Installed tach, water temp, and oil pressure gauges today. All my stock gauges still work except the oil pressure gauge, I plan on getting it back online soon.
