I really like the look of those corrugated tops!
Almost finished...

I finally got frustrated with my 79 carb problems. My 40 would run pretty well for a while but then it would just die and not start back up.
After my tow truck driver mentioned that it is not good that we were becoming friends, I decided to stop tinkering and took the truck to ACC for a proper carb rebuild. They convinced me to also desmog (I have all the smog parts in a tote in case I move to California.)
Seems like it was a good plan. I drove it 25 miles home and the truck never missed a beat.
Some before and after pics of the engine bay and my super sweet 79 .

Nice to get rid of all that ‘spaghetti’ too!![]()
Looked like an aerial pic of LA freeway snaggle....
I turned 40 this month, and in an effort to prevent a mid-life crisis, my wife told me to spend some money and finish up that "eyesore in the garage" I've been tinkering with for the last 4 years.
This week I got an extra-sturdy home-fabbed rear sill dialed in. I like 'em thick in the back end. (first pics are before I boxed in the ends)
And then yesterday we somehow misplaced the janky quarter panels (we misplaced them with a cutoff wheel). Guess we'll just have to put some fresh steel on.
Just waiting for some new wheel wells. Amazon said they were too heavy for their same-day drone service.
It's my first cruiser, but 40's are my first car love. (I still remember the first one I climbed in the back of at 8 years old, that heater and the fold down seats. It was olive green).
I'm beyond stoked, and SO happy this forum exists. Good people here. Thanks for all your help everyone.

Ha! I WISH those were my mine. I've got a buddy helping me now (I need it), and that is his garage. there are 3 or 4 more cool "eye sores" in there out of frame and about 50 more outside in the yard. I have been learning as I go and it's nice to have a mentor that REALLY knows what he's doing and has all the tools we need at arm's reach.Ah, to be 40 again.
Looks like you have several cool eye sores in your garage.
Took the 78 to a car show... mostly Mopars... View attachment 1744557
