Hit Craigslist for the Famco arbor press and an estate sale for the Wilton bullet vise and pipe vise. All made in the USA. Great weekend finds that will be welcome additions to the shop.

Excellent score on some fine shop tools. 👍
Yes sir, $50 for the press, $50 for the Wilton vise, and $20 for the pipe vise. Could not pass them up. I had been looking for a deal on an original bullet vise for a while.

$50 for the bullet is indeed way too good to pass, seller did not do due diligence, and especially so with the swivel. You can get a feel for how old it is from the molded city name. But there may also be a year actually stamped inside.

you deserve a beer for the find and quick move. Enjoy!

Wow, what a score! What size is the Wilton? My dad has an old 6" in great shape, they really are solid, smooth, quality made pieces.

Date code is stamped on the bottom of the slide. Unscrew it all the way and flip it over.

Will report back this weekend when I tear it down for cleaning and lubrication.

I believe it is a 400S model based on pics and video online. Will confirm this weekend.

I'm not a beer guy but I may celebrate this weekend with some Black Sambuca over ice while I tear it down for cleaning. I have only had about a 1/2 can of beer over the last 50 years. That 1/2 can is total combined from people saying, "try this one, you'll like this one" or "those others are garbage, this is what you need to have"......it all tasted like pee would taste just different vintages of pee, IMHO :vomit:

Picked up some more good finds.

Picked up a nice rolling work cart from C/L. Great for pulling tools around the truck and keeping them off the ground.

Got a set of 4 USA made 5 Ton jack stands from an estate sale

Got the Reel raft air hose reel from the same estate sale. Marked $150, but ended up FREE the $20 jack stands. The reel looks new.

More estate sale deals.....

Craftsman Bandsaw (Made in the USA) from 1975 making it almost as old as me, and probably in better shape :). I think it was a good deal for $100 for how clean it is.

Found this old (Made in the USA) brass fish scale at the same estate sale as the band saw (fish scale was FREE).......I don't think you can get any made in the USA today. Hoping it will be good for checking that knuckle bearing preload. Works smooth and resets back to zero. I will be able to check it's accuracy with some calibrated weights I have at work.
