Front leaf springs clean up. Doing an SR. Split the packs, brushed up, new spring rebound clips, DriSlide, bushings.

Using Ruffstuff spring and shackle hangers, and outboarding. So now have a minor issue with bolt sizing. The original rear spring pin, as well as the front shackles were 15mm. So try finding a 15mm bolt, not gonna happen. 9/16" works, just a tad loose, ⅝" too big.

Anyone else deal with this?

Remove rust from the rear springs with wire wheel (messy job) ,followed by brake cleaner , rust converter. , paint the visible area and graphite between leafs, also remove the alu shims , you can see why

found a hood latch which is missing on my FJ40 thanks to another forum member...after a overnight bath in Evapo-rust it looks like new again.
The latch doubles as a mount point for my missing air intake scoop...hopefully by next week I will have all the other parts assembled to get this back together. #babysteps

Looks great, I didn’t even know 40’s had hood latches! Mine is definitely missing then.

Worked on CAD design for crossmember. With my drivetrain, NV4500 & Atlas, the Atlas is clocked all the way down right now, later when I get the weight on suspension I hope I can clock it back up, but now it hangs below frame a bit which I don't like.

Am I out to lunch on this? Looks to me like it's the only way I can get a crossmember in there, and can add some protection below as well.

This trip (pending) or any trip to this beach?

All fish pictures are a plus..... A chance to wet a hook, Land Cruiser to get there, maybe a cold beer while you wait on fish to make up their mind...... All GOOD!

First oil change since I replaced the clutch, oil pan gasket and rear main. Kind of refreshing to see everything nice and clean down there and not coated in oil

QUESTION: After installing LED Headlights on the 40, the little clips that secure the headlight stone guards don't fit. The LED headlights stick out just a little bit more than the old sealed beam style.

For those of us who prefer running the stone guards on headlamps, Any tips or recommendations on what to use post LED conversion?
