Don’t do it, it’s a trap.

Don't worry I won't come crowd you out of your fishing spots ;). Really, anywhere outside of Maryland would be an upgrade.

Getting closer-- should get it out of shop next week. I heard the engine with a new stock type muffler today but am going to go with one that is a little louder. PTO winch yoke part I needed is being machined today to lengthen female end of my existing yoke by 3 inches.

Original PTO winch is now fully operational-- modified existing yoke shaft by cutting and welding moly spline shaft in order to gain an extra 3 inches. Attached is pic of rough piece-- still have some final finishing work to do. This is part that connects to winch btw.

Every picture you post of Montana makes me want to get the hell out of Maryland so badly!

@rkymtnflyfisher I second @RWBeringer4x4 !!!! Those are some beautiful pictures of Montana!! I told my wife when you were posting we should move. :) How much snow do you get there? I have some family in Wyoming and he claims there are more forest service roads out there than he would ever be able to run. I told him when the 40 is done, I'll come and help him run them.

PTO shifter pic. My tranny hump did not have shift hole so I purchased a used tranny hump (with factory PTO cutout) and used that as template to cut mine. Shifter and flap are courtesy of LivingInThePast, MUD's resident PTO expert and frankly an expert on many things FJ40 related. Cab floor will be partially covered by my CruiserCorps mud floor coverings.

Montana sucks, the real estate is out of control, the rivers are overcrowded, the winters are horrible, all the Kalifonians are coming up, I could go on for a little longer, but I think I'm going to go enjoy a trout stream in the mountains!

Take this thing off and toss it in the trash and you can engage 2 low with the hubs locked. Nice feature on tight trails.

Rather than tossing the whole piece... if you cut the opposite corner out from the L and turn it into a square, you'll be able to shift into 2WD Low.

Yes there’s more
From an older post requesting what brand this is. I now know it’s a blue torch fabrication but an old one

Cleaning up my shorty headers and I mean short really short

2 gl Firestone airts for my 40003 (400c?) viar pump

Stock photo of my dual battery holder from ballistic fab.. trust me you have no idea how tired I am from work that I can’t just walk three feet open a cabinet door and take the picture I’m just lazy and tired after being in a kitchen for 10 hours straight

I did all this in the last two or three weeks either purchased or installed

I got new rear shock mount studs too from SOR and installed them on the rear end above the leafs to keep the shock protected
