I guess I fixed my windshield wipers.
A few years ago I pulled the wiper drive and motor for some preventative maintenance. New brushes and lube.
Put it back together and reinstalled it only to find the the park would not work. Pulled it back out and tried to figure out what I did wrong to no avail.
So gave up with the promise to do something later.
Went on another year or so with it that way until I decided to try to fix it.
No luck.
More than another year went by until now and I decided to to give it one more try.
Took it all apart inspected and cleaned it and put it back together bench tested and couldn't get the park to work.
Said to heck with it and put the wiper unit back in figuring I had lived with it this long whats a few more years.
Like I said I put the unit back in and plugged it in turned the ignition key and the darned thing made one swipe and went to the park position. Don't ask what I did because I haven't the foggiest.
After turning the wipers on and off a bunch of times with no problem I guess I have properly working wipers again.
Over the years I have had similar things happen.
The problem is when something mysteriously fixes I will spend the next few months anticipating it mysteriously breaking again.

I believe the good gnomes, who mysteriously fix things (usually at night) are always battling the gremlins who are trying to mess things up. In your case, the good gnomes prevailed (this time)

Back on (and also off!) the road again after some front axle refresh work. Also now sporting the final prototype of the new repro reflective rear sill stickers I'm selling. (See Small Business classifieds or link in my signature.) The real one won't go on until after paint.

a few yrs back my friend and i mostly my friend who's a body guy put new rear quarters and fender wells on my 40 with that i lost my bottom bolt holes for my ambulance doors. This has worried me for quit a while today was a rain day for me at work so i loaded my welder and a bucket of tools and went to his shop were we recently moved my tube back indoors and got it tackled i'm so happy this part is behind me

welded some weld nuts and got the doors mounted it was kind of a booger bear to get the doors lined up but worked out

In my Quest for Late Model-Themed Interior Illumination , I wanted a ash tray with a lamp or light like the FJ60 or many other early 1980's toyota cars and trucks have ?

After all at night where am i going to put my Swisher-Sweet while shifting ?

I found a Donor 1986 4runner ash tray receiver that has the Lamp Shade #74 Bulb housing & pig tail socket

The key to this is a Oval hole in the FJ4# ash tray receiver so as to disburse the green LED light properly

I attached the 4runner pigtail to the FJ's interior inn illumination circuit , Typicality a red wire w/ black stripe or if NON-USA a solid green wire

i made sure the OEM-Type pop rivets were installed from the inside flush as not to stick out and interfere with the rotation travel of the ash tray it self

The interior Illumination and direction of Lumen's is perfect , and does not shine in the drivers eyes at all & lights up the ash tray

why Toyota never updated this as one would expect from a early 1980's toyota ?

Now upgraded & Updated to a green LED bulb

Now My Swisher- Stogie Finds its mark .....

I got it off ebay.
Toyota - FJ40 - Land Cruiser - Factory OEM Rear Step (Pre - 1974)
The seller was great. The first one he posted had some pitting and he had another one that was near new that I bought. They are OEM for early FJ40s. The flanges turn inward, rather than out, on the pre-1974 models. The later ones are 1/4 in narrower. It just fits under the receiver although I cannot access the safety chain loops.
It really makes accessibility easy without reducing road clearance.

I have the period Con-Ferr Sand Bar that was in it when I bought it. It will go back in before I start really using the rig. As for paint, if ti was still original paint, I'd leave it. But since it has at least 3 really cheap coats of paint in wildly varied colors showing on spots, I want to make it nicer. Not too nice, I don't want to be afraid to drive it.

Received a free functioning viair 20007 pump and tank from a friend.

Received my 95300b Hellroarimg technologies isolator


Got my 40003 (400c?) air pump ready for the two gallon firestone air tank

Mounted the flowJet 4400 pump and rested it out with a bucket of water. Wow it works very well . Instead of using for a camping sink or shower maybe to siphon from gas can to fuel tank

Put this rear diff cover on. I found out
