Scratched a couple more tasks off the long list. I had to relocate the light switch due to the PO’s monster tach hole. Built a cleaner sub harness using coolerman’s factory colored wire and connectors. Everything works great on the OEM dimmer, so far. Retrofitted an earlier brake warning light. Did opt to install the fog switch above tach, at this point I figure what’s one more dash hole:hillbilly:

Swapped to a pair of telescoping mirrors, from CCOT... But, only because they include a bracket modifier that allowed me to mount them to my door hinges. I can't use the windshield hinge mount, because of my snorkel and high lift Jack.

I'm very pleased with the quality or these mirror, the ease of nstallation and the price!!

I haven't had 44 out of the garage with the mirror on... So, my pics aren't very good... Just showing the passenger side.

You can also see my mount method for carrying a 10' trucker antenna pole, in two 5' sections... I use it with a cell phone booster, when camped far out... Sometimes it helps... Sometimes there's no signal to be had.

My 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited was stolen from my driveway this morning in broad daylight.
So it looks like I may be investing in my 78 fj40 earlier than anticipated. The insurance money may go towards a Howell fuel injection system, lift kit, OEM wheels and tires and a quick repaint and reupholster. .

Pure suck... but... a silver lining. .

Sorry to hear that. Glad you can see the positive. Don't think I would be the same.

You can see my Jeep in this pic. The 78 is the mustard rig. The 64 chassis is hiding under the tarp. Bad day to drive the solstice to work...

Sorry for your loss.. and that you’ll probably worry about parking out front, from now on.

Sucks!!

You failed to mention the ‘custom’ dog harness hanger! :grinpimp:

My own special design!!

I have stuff everywhere right now... I've completely unloaded 44 and am making some storage changes, in anticipation of our long trip in May-Jun.

Where do you live in Oregon? Bummer on the stolen vehicle.

In west Salem .

Some good news from the buyer of my 73. He's Happy... Just arrived at his place in New York.

Replaced the fuel gauge sender gasket on the gas tank. It was old and screwed up when gassed over a half a tank it leaked and got me high off gas fumes. Here in Colorado if I want to get high I'd try pot. Also no more torture trails, the old beauty deserves to be driven over normal 4wd trails, not radical rock stuff. I'm for keeping my '71 40 in good shape with no broken birfields or other radical trail damage.
