Put the chassis back in the shop, the other day (did that each evening since starting stripping the paint) you can see it a little better inside. Need to order some more drums.

Still working on restoring the top but some progress!

Hands down, headliner install is THE worst type if job I have done on this cruiser so far. I would take welding/body work over this any day. Glue, creases...oh well, it is in..

Finally installed my Humvee belts too...nice score at 28 bucks.

Started back on engine cart, I'll adapt it to what ever engine I'm working on in the future. Hopefully it'll have the battery tray, control panel and radiator on it before long.

Nice work Gator! I have a welder very similar to yours. I bought it used for $100.0 this summer. It is 20 years old but looks and runs like it is new.

Did a successful switchover from my old original toyota alternator to a new gm delco alternator. Questions were answered on the forum and turned out to be a super simple job. I started with a stock delco that was original equip for my old donor 350 '78 GMC Jimmy at 63 amps but now decided to up it a bit with a 78 amp alternator that is used in '86 loaded Suburbans with 350. Might need a little extra amp d/t my seldom used 8274 winch. The old alternator was still cranking out the amps but I got tired of the home made welded brackets with many washers for spacers used on water pump bolt and exhaust manifold bolt. Much cleaner with stock style 350 alternator brackets and it uses a much shorter belt. now to incorporate/ repurpose my unused brake warning light for a alternator warning idiot light.

Really enjoyed this video, @cult45. Great production value, and you're very comfortable in front of the camera. Best of luck to you in your acting journey!
Thanks mate! We worked hard on that one! Maybe 30 hours in it!

How

How about just using some cream colored spray on bedliners for headliner?
I wanted some insulation/sound barrier and oem look....
I think once the party is going, nobody will notice the creases :-)

Didn't use mine, but used the suitably patina'd 45 from @sneaky to scout locations for a short film I wrote in which it is the hero car. Filming commences this December in the unbearable Queensland heat!

Thanks @76 FJ40 , I bought that welder back I think in 2005. It was pretty new then, for $400.00, it came with the cart and gas regulator. Priced the same one at Red Ball for almost $800.00. I've used the snot out of it, built my winch truck in the back yard off the dryer plug. Usually keep .035 in it, when welding thick stuff I heat it with a torch and crank it up lol. You got a helluva deal.

I installed the upper cab section, roof panel, hood, head ache rack and a few other smaller items this weekend.

Had the rad and block flushed. Realized my heater control valve was stuck not even half open so i tapped into the wide open position and let the heat fly! Wow the cab will be warm in -30c this winter when i drive it haha. It can stay that way till next summer. Ill replace it then
