Drove her back to the Front Range to pull it apart to give her some love. Replace the injectors, and get it ready for the Alaska trip happening with @ExpoMax . Traded my dad and got to drive his 40 back up :). It was the maiden voyage after rebuilding the 2F. Ran great.

I disagree with them that factory lockers are worth more. Aftermarket lockers are much more reliable at this point.
OEM Toyota lockers are the only lockers that can be manually engaged when there's a issue. Your new lockers can't do that.

If you know you know.

My locker are very reliable  we shall see how reliable new lockers are in 30 years

I pulled it out of thin air for sure - zero diag as of right now. It just died on the highway like every other time I’ve had a belt go out. I thought that happened with these? This is my first time driving something with a chain vs a belt. I don’t hear any crunchy sounds when I crank her over - sounds like I’m on the wrong train of thought? About to go check basic electrical
If the ignitor plug comes off or it can go out, will kill the truck, mine popped off on i70 put the plug back on the infinite and off I went.

How much more could the cost of a timing set have possibly been when you already had the motor torn down??
Trust me, I know :bang: I can’t remember what went through my head to skip the chain but it was a hectic time in my life, and like I said I was pinching every penny possible (20 y/o at the time) I lose a little sleep here and there over the shortcuts I took but it is what it is. I’m driving it until I have to do it again (correctly the next time lol)

25k miles and counting

We would have MUD members in the ER if I spilled the beans on my rebuild

Any parts gurus on today?

I'm missing one of the Toyota U-Nuts that secures the instrument cluster trim panel, the one that extends to the radio bezel and ash tray. I can't find a part number anywhere.

Can anyone point me towards a suitable Toyota part number?

I'm talking about one of these

for one of the two securing screw mounts inside the ash receptacle opening.

Seems most people don't replace those gutter trim pieces. Looks great on your truck with all the other black pieces still looking fresh and clean.

Thanks!
The original gutter trim was looking aged and it was bent in a couple places along with the black coating chipping off. New ones are really a nice improvement. The cost of the gutter trim isn't bad, but since it comes in a 8' box the shipping makes it $$$. I ordered them through the dealer and that helps a lot with the shipping cost.

I used Carpro Perl on all the black trim and paint between the windows to darken everything, reminds me I need to coat my roof rack next.

It is virtually impossible to ship those mouldings without damage, unless it is from Toyota to the ordering dealer. In that case there is no freight charge.
