Easy to get out with upper intake off but putting the engine side bolt back in is still a pita.
 
Thank you and Heckraiser for helping. My truck is pretty heavy and although it feels great on road without the swaybar, I think these slinkies and icons are too light for good onroad performance. It sways a lot when turning onroad.
Out of curiousity, do you know which Slinky coils you have and which Shocks are you running? Since I'm running a full slinky setup on a heavy rig too and I'm very happy with the on-road performance its interesting to see what different slinky setups are doing for others. I have the 75mm HD coils, and have run the adjustable 2.5 Stage4 shocks but am currently running the 2.5 dual bypass shocks. I have a Blackhawk 30mm rear swaybar (and will agree that an upgraded rear swaybar makes a huge difference on a heavy truck). I still run a factory front swaybar. I agree that the one you have looks to be aftermarket but I can't confirm which one it is.

Box Rocket, I see you are from Utah and I love the pictures you take of your adventures with the 80 series. In short, I do not know what slinkies I have paired with the icons because PO had these installed. I haven't weighed the truck yet but no doubt it is heavy. Alucab 3.1 tent on a front runner rack with high feet, drawer system, fridge, diesel engine, front bumper with winch, rear bumper with swingout. I'm getting rid of the front runner rack and will be selling and mounting the alucab directly to load bars on low feet so this should help high up weight. Since mounting front sway bar the thing drives great on road though, just hope I don't get some of the failures people talk about. Can't vouch for offroad yet, but no swaybar with slinkies was previously awesome offroad, very smooth.

Gotcha. If the tags happen to still be on the springs and you can read the numbers on them I could help determine which springs they are. IIRC the 7511 is the HD coil. The setup is definitely a good one offroad, still the best bolt-on suspension I've experienced in an 80. It's very good on-road as well in my experience but swaybars play a big part in the control on and off road. I think a HD rear swaybar is a worthwhile upgrade on almost any 80, and sometimes a HD front swaybar is worthwhile too if the rig is heavy enough. I think I'm right on the edge of that where I could use an HD front swaybar. Front can still be disconnected easily for offroad, and I haven't found the rear HD to limit suspension travel at all.

I'm not particularly handy and it took me about 10 minutes. Most of the time was actually spent putting the crappy door card back on. Mine is in pretty bad shape and is missing many of the plastic clips.
 
you will like the delta radius arms (although they are pricey)
I’ve only had them on the truck for the drive home, but I will say this…once I get to 65–70, the vehicle just stays put…no more darting around like a young dog on a leash in a park full of squirrels! It’s amazing…i feels like I’m driving a factory suspension.

My complete engine rebuild on my HDJ80 is now finished. Now I've decided to do a t-case rebuild with lower gears, and a part-time kit. I don't have the time or inclination to do all of this right now, so it's been away from home all this time. I'm REALLY ready to have it back home. I wish I had some pics to share, but I haven't really gotten any. I got a short clip of the engine running, but as much as I tried, I couldn't get it uploaded.

I don't have the time or inclination to do all of this right now, so it's been away from home all this time. I'm REALLY ready to have it back home. In all seriousness, congrats on getting it rebuilt and running again. Frankly I dont blame you for wanting to drive it awhile… been there, done that. (although a transfer case rebuild is a two day job for most of us shade tree mechanics and probably a 1-day job at most for those that do it for a living)
 
A couple months of ownership for my LX seemed like long enough to take it on a test trip, so we took it 3k miles round trip to Baja and back. Still had the temporary plates on. The 80 is such an amazing platform for this type of trip.

Driving the 80 yesterday there was a very light fluttery sensation in the steering, but only at a certain point in steering right to left, or left to right. I checked wheel bearings this morning, both fine, but while under the Cruiser noticed that the upper panhard bolt had backed out. The nut was loose. I replaced all suspension bushings last year and marked heads with torque check. The loose bolt head was obvious. I had torqued this bolt to the correct setting, I think. Went back in and hit it with the impact this time and remarked it with paint. Passenger side bolt was still tight.
