Removed the old dirty carpet, gutted interior and washed the headliner...found some rest near the 2nd row belt...fiberglass is probably the way to go for fixture!

No pics...just some basic stuff...I cleaned out the cruiser of camping gear, gave her a good vacuum, fixed the PS second row seat; it wasn't connecting at the anchor point. The cable is corroded as I was getting a lot of water intrusion up until February (or so) of this year. Cleared a lot of debris and rust from the cable, gave it a few shots of lubricant, forced it to connect, and BAM! it's connected and the seat is anchored.

Although, I'll need to get a new cable...tested it a few times and if I release the seat, it won't grab the anchor point without taking off the bottom covering and forcing it open again.

Also, I spent that same afternoon scraping off the residue of Gorilla Tape from around my sunroof with Griots version of GumOut...liberally sprayed the solution around the sunroof and went to town using a plastic razor...it's all gone now.

As a note, even if you NEED to seal up your sunroof temporarily, DO NOT USE Gorilla Tape, or anything like it.

Going to order my rear bumper and Swing out soon, as well as my front ARB bumper with winch mount :)

no pics but been getting water in the factory jack area. traced it up high, to what i think is the seal to the vents behind the window slider trim piece.

managed to get that trim piece off without breaking any clips. the trick i found here is to push out from the body both the bottom stud and the top clip, then slide the whole piece upwards. i was able to release the top clip with the help of a small socket on an extension (6mm maybe? enough to compress the clip). the hardest part was probably slipping the trim pieces back under the slider window gasket

since i chose to do this without buying new parts, i used 3M butyl rope i had on hand for my gaskets. made a mess of my hands and under my finger nails making thin strips to re-create the vent gasket, clip gaskets, and re-adhere the trim edges. now waiting for the next big rain storm
Just getting the thing off in one piece is a win. I have yet to remove one without breaking the top retainer... Slide up not pull out, just can't remember that part ....

Will report back - been chasing a gremlin and given all the stories of fusible links and the problems they can throw up i thought this was low hanging fruit - already checked for battery drain pulling fuses - seems okay…..
Change all your grounds and oversize them Body to block on the Paasenger side. Body to Ground Battery and Main ground Driver's side unde the manifold.

Do you happen to know the tire size on that GX? I need some ideas haha
37's will happen eventually....for now and the foreseeable future I'm running 285 / 75/ r17 Toyo MT's - they are great size w/ the 4.88 gears, does 75 on the highway no problem, I don't go much faster than that...no sway bars :smokin:

Starting to come back together

Radiator and timing cover back in. Battery boxes back in. Still waiting on shims.

Drained the trans. Fluid is still a lovely red. No sparkles.

Finally got around to lowering my BIOR step slider 1/4” and the flare was loose, due to 3 of the clips on backside are broken.

Is this a JDM 80? I ask because you front fenders attach differently than my 1994. I literally just removed them and replaced the rubber trim. I have 3 bolts on top that you must unscrew the nuts holding them on from the engine bay, reaching inside the fender. I only have one plastic clip like that yellow one you have in a slightly higher position.

Did you drop the transmission pan and replace the filter by chance? Last time I drained the transmission I didn’t drop the pan but probably should have.

There isn't a filter. It's a mesh screen.
My trans is new. So I didn't. I was just putting in some fresh fluid and looking at what came out.
