Finally have some time, space and materials to start several projects that are somewhat intertwined. Tore out the interior, headliner and started making space under the hood. Projects starting on:
I have been accumulating parts for the last year just waiting for when I had some time to start. So, second day tear down, cleaning starts tomorrow...

So what you're saying is you didn't do anything? haha...

It’s that time of year. Time to take the old four wheel drive sleigh out into the winter landscape and select that most important of Christmas symbols.

Your brakes will be awesome!

Details of your switch pros mount setup? Did you hook up the three extra ignition, light wire and the other one? Where did you tap into for those? Where do you plan to mount the brain? I have a SP unit sitting in my garage!

Thanks for quoting the links to other threads too. I need to do some of the same things

Mustcamp,
that oil pump seal is on my list of things to do as well. only a slight leak on mine but still a leak. What method did you use for the crank bolt?

just a bit concerned at the colour of the coolant pipe insides, very rusty? Are you not using the Toyota red coolant?

I did the HG on mine 3 years back and with using the red coolant everything inside was shiny clean in the water jackets etc on a 480k (km) motor

rob
My impact gun powered it off. I think it had been off in the past the crank seal was not Toyota. I got lucky on the screws for the oil seal also. Only one was tuff but it came off with some extra hammer taps with the bit in. I used 80 Series 1FZ Oil Pump Leak Kit
I got the cruiser from a flip. It had almost pure water in it. I will flush many times before I put the final mix it the cooling system.

3mm Aluminum Composite panels
Both you two are on the same page as far as DIY RTT with the 80/20 slash GFC design. Will you start a thread with how you did it & were you resourced the material?

I recommend taking a look at this. Jim is a super cool guy and kinda pioneered all this diy tent/camper stuff

How to: DIY Wedge Camper

No build thread but I did reference Ripcord’s thread extensively. I didn’t have any real plans, just kind of winged it with many many orders from McMaster Carr and Tnutz

I plan on a build thread once I make a couple more tweaks

Your brakes will be awesome!
I hope so. After the money and all the time I have spent on the stock brakes, something has got to give. I could have taken a short cruise for as much time and money as I have in attempting to get the stock brake setup to work satisfactorily...

Not much to report at this time as I haven't come close to the actual install. I am, more than likely, going to install the brain on the quarter panel mount and have the ashtray mount from Wits'end for the control panel. I was going to install the brain above the brake booster but, I am concerned with the heat it would receive mounted on the firewall. Heat destroys electronics and conductors and I want a trouble free install. Once I am done with this, I want to focus on using the rig and not wrenching on it. I will sort the actual wiring for it out as I go. IIRC, @NLXTACY has a post of his install that I will go back to.

I picked up this truck about a year ago. It was intended to be a parts truck, but turned out to be in better shape overall that the '95 I was driving at the time. Got some rust and a bit of neglect:

Spent a great week in Bahia de los Angeles. Our family has a place about ten miles past town. Funny story: with my dad driving the 80, we were heading to town on the dirt, talking about how coveted the 80 series has become. Heading towards us we suddenly see five (!) 80s in a row, no other vehicles. We were like wow! So we wave to each as they pass: not one person acknowledged us or waved back !?!

Found a pair of Recaro SE seat in minty fresh condition, sitting on Recaro sliders on CL. Fits like a glove so far (already beat the tranny hump). Next step figuring out a proper mounting bracket. They seem to mount up like procar does.

I have a set of WRX Impreza seats in classified if you’re looking.

Well, busy weekend... Finished my OBA setup, tailgate storage and instrument cluster lighting:

OBA - went with the PUMA compressor but used a viair tank underneath. Compressor is located between the drawer system and the trim in the back. Plumbed for front and rear connections and my ARB setup. ARB controlled via the magic dial I've always wanted.

Tank:
