I didn't really do anything exciting with it. Have been DDing it though which is out of the norm and has been fun. Really just like driving it. Spent a lot of time in the auto industry and have driven everything imaginable....give me a well sorted 80 over all of it.

Swapped in a new brake booster. Pretty easy job except for having to use a crowbar to move the engine far enough towards the passenger side to squeeze the new booster back in. Glad to have my brakes back!

When you go to the desert you need a vehicle to get back out... the 80 is the Tow / Rescue vehicle😂

Not this weekend but the previous two weekends I was lucky enough to get out with some good friends and chase the ever elusive utah spike elk. Needless to say we didn't find a unicorn this year but the camping, scenery, and company was good enough for me.

While exploring we came across this burnt down trailer.

Wrapped up a hidden winch with an M8000 on the Oddball80 today using a harbor freight plate. I’d say it took about 6 hours tip to toe. A lot of that time was dicking with the generic crappy plate. Word is Trail Tailor will have a plate soon and that will make it easier.

After troubleshooting code 25 (lean air), I wrestled the exhaust manifold off and watched the donut gaskets crumble to dust, the manifold gaskets were shot too. After looking the manifold over, it wasn’t cracked, but pretty warped. I used it as an excuse to get with Dugan over at ACC Toyota. I’m pretty pleased.

Tell us about that manifold plz

Sure thing. Just got it in the mail yesterday. It’s all stainless, and bolts right up to where the stock manifold would, even uses the same OEM gasket (That ACC even supplied!). It does however ditch the Toyota donut gaskets for the down pipe and instead uses a universal gasket like these. Apparently you can get these at any auto parts store.

The only thing I had to do for fitment was remove the bracket for a brake line under the passenger side wheel well. So far it doesn’t seem to effect it any. ACC did the same.

As for numbers/dyno, I don’t/won’t have any of that info. Sorry. ACC claims it gains 17HP, I’ll go with that. This is my wife’s daily, so it was more about making it more reliable and getting rid of rust.
