Fixed my shaky mirrors (thanks @Cruiser Jimmy! shakey sideview mirror FIX)

Took out 3rd row seats & nasty rear carpet. Next weekend, new shocks, brake rotors, & rebuild the front end axles!

How is the Morningstar Sunsaver working out for you?

I'll let you know in a couple of weeks. My solar panel has been sitting in my garage for about 8 months...

Just mounted the Sunsaver to motivate me to get the solar mounted. It will be mounted before our trip in 16 days!

Can't wait! Look great Jason!
On another note, FedEx showed up today. My wife just texted this photo to me since I'm at work. Ordered from Tire Buyer 2 days ago! Super fast service. Hoping to have them mounted by next weekend.
Tread looks aggressive! What flavor are these?

I'm using one for my portable battery pack (100ah). It is working great for me using 100W panels.

Took the 80 over to Berrima Diesel yesterday morning.

Pulled a measly 68rwkw and came out with 113rwkw. Turbo is very loud now, probably a bit too loud for my liking...cruising back home on the freeway, it was louder than the 35" Muddies!

Nice torque figures, what mods to achieve that? At what boost level?

Productive day. I installed 2 dome lights in my tailgate. @Mr Cimarron I tapped them off the rear factory dome light so they turn on when either of the back doors or the rear hatch is open....or they can turn off or on all the time. It took some time as I phished the wires through the grommet going to the top part of the hatch and then down the inside of the rear hatch.

I also ordered some 74 LEDs and now I have light in my floor shifter again and my glovebox....both of those were out. More LEDs on the way for the dome lights, door lights, instrument cluster, and AC control....a few lights out in each. I forgot how bright LEDs are....had them in my 4Runner once upon a time.

Yeah, the Sunsaver is a solid unit. I have little doubt it will be great.

Mr. "I just bought a brand new dually Cheby 4x4 with a Westin front bumper and think I am invincible in the snow" tried to turn in to the parking lot at work today as I was leaving. His bumper missed my driver door by 3". I was silently hoping he'd hit me and I could cash in on his idiocy. Not bad enough to make it inoperable but bad enough to buy a new rear bumper! :grinpimp:

He ended up following me to the gas station (where else would I be going in my 80?!?!) and apologized. He picked up he truck yesterday. It has 90 miles on it. I told him he should probably stay at home when the weather is bad.

The BFG KO2s performed flawlessly in the snow. I never noticed how mediocre the prior generation of KOs were. Picking up another set for the 92. Those have 55k on them and plenty of tread but huge difference.

At least he apologized. That is certainly a rarity for chebby drivers...especially if dually.

Ko2s are incredible in the snow. If my st maxx's are anywhere near as good I'll be thrilled.

New knock sensors from @LandCruiserPhil showed up today. I'll install them tomorrow. And do oil change. Going to go ahead and switch to 5w-30 for the winter.

Wednesday I purchased a new to my wife rig, a 1996 LX450, a NM rustfree high mileage rig. This weekend driving and constructing a fix it list prioritized as such; Make it run (it does and well I might add), Make it turn (does that too, with a little whining), make it safe, make it reliable and make it shine. 280+k mileage, spent $5k, have money saved to do most of the work myself (with son's help) and some professional help.

Took the Cruiser up for a day trip to Keystone to ski and "explore" a little. Did great going up I70. If I had momentum i was holding the speed limit if not speeding at 3k on the steep parts, however if I got stopped midway up a hill, it was foot the floor while watching the speedo barely move back up. Put some 10k fluid in my black fan clutch and I am very happy with the results. Before the new fluid the temp would be all over the place anywhere from 190 to 210. Now with the new fluid the hottest I saw was 196 while pushing it pretty hard.

Ran into one problem halfway up I70 when my washer fluid stopped coming out the nozzle. At first I thought I was out of fluid but upon further inspection the filter on the drivers side of the engine bay that all the fluid passes through was clogged or it was broken (haven't had time to look). I really needed washer fluid with all the snow coming down and I luckily had some small hose that I could connect to the hose the washer fluid was coming out of. I was therefore able to route the hose out of the engine bay and up to the top of the windshield. It was really ugly (see the pic) but it did work .

After skiing all day I went up by Montezuma to see how far I could get up and see if Webster Pass was open. View attachment 1364700 View attachment 1364701 View attachment 1364700 View attachment 1364701

I was surprised to see the road going to Webster was somewhat plowed. I don't know if I made to the trailhead (the last time I went up there was probably 3-4 years ago in the summer) but I kind of chickened out when it started to get pretty steep, realized I had no phone coverage, and had no one else with me. It was snowing really hard and there was a winter storm warning for 10-24 inches. When i went up there was probably 8-10 inches of fresh snow on the road.

Overall it was a great day and made me fall even more in love with the cruiser.
