It broke pretty much flush with the flange's outer surface (closest to the radiator), so the hole is still filled with the stud remnant, but there's nothing sticking out, if that's what you're getting at.

Then I would be far less concerned.

They are a hard poly spacer but 20mm. My problem is the lip, on the bottom side, its too big for the spring to go around. Even lubed. So the spring Is tilted at the top a little. Its probably not the end of the world but its driving me crazy. I might try and cut the lip off, but that still leaves a cheap poly spacer up there. I should find metal solution.

Metal isn't necessarily better at 20mm, in fact the poly or rubber spacers provide a little extra vibration damping.
