Use a sawsall or cut off disk on a grinder to cut the chrome shank of the shock underneath the shock mount above the tire where you have more room.
I will try that tomorrow morning. Thanks for the suggestion.
 
I have tried my impact gun, strap wrench, channel lock pliers, Dremel cutting wheel, a nut splitter, etc but still can’t get the nut off the top of the shock. I’ve chewed the nut up far worse than what is in this photo. This was after some early attempts.

Cutoff disk on an angle grinder will take off everything in no time at all, just cover stuff with welding blanket or cardboard box.
 
I have been planning to buy a set of @Delta VS arms I just need to recoup from my
last buy. They are on the list. I check their site frequently looking to see if they have a scratch and dent used set listed. I expect I will eventually have to poney up and get a set.

Currently I am running OME J springs with spacers in front. I am trying to stay at about a 4inch lift with the Cummins. Please post up your thoughts after you get those springs installed. Do you recall what specs. the delta arms were built to?

The arm's are the 6" spec I am putting the springs in today, I need some coil insulators because I cannot stand the sound of the springs in the buckets

I took advantage of the Cowboys being on bye and got a couple of things done on this beautiful Sunday in northeast Texas.

The first was battery cable upgrades. I bought the kit from Hudd Expo as well as the military-style terminals. Got rid of this....

I also moved my ScanGuage from the steering column to the Wits End mirror mount. I took the back cover off of the ScanGauge and drilled a 1/4” hole to accept a 1/4-20 button head cap screw that went into a RAM ball (HD only had 3/4” long screws, so I stacked some washers for the time being). I then used a short RAM arm to another RAM ball coming off the mirror arm. There’s a lot going on around the mirror, but at least it’s all in one spot now. It does make the driver side visor unusable for the time being. I’m going to modify it. Also is not all wired up yet as I need to get an ethernet coupler and make a jumper cable to make it up to the mirror from the driver’s footwell.

How is that V1 mounted? To the mirror mount or mirror with a Blendmount?

I picked up some Rhino racks with the square bars a couple days ago, and realized my ski rack wouldn't fit, so being ridiculously frugal, I designed and printed a very questionable print, but it seems to work. I printed in PLA, and will re-print in ABS for the final product.

Out of curiosity, coming from the perspective of "I wish I had a 3D Printer and love coming up with useful gadgets", say you come up with a fantastic bracket/adapter like this but the print is too fragile. Can you have your design printed or machined commercially from something more robust like metal or nylon? I'm considering playing with Solid Works or the like a bit more but some of my ideas may require strength or UV protection beyond available print filament materials.
 
Dissent, thats exactly what we do here. Our R&D department will 3d print a part to make sure it fits correctly, then it'll go to production where it is made of a stronger material.

I think when I reprint in ABS it will be pretty strong, that said, I'm sure you can upload a part design and have someone print or CNC it. I designed this in TINKERCAD, which is a free, online modeling program that is super simple to use. I tried Solid works, but it was taking me way to long to learn it. Nylon would be pretty awesome. I might just add a leash or some sort of redundant backup in case one fails, and of course print out a couple extras to have on hand. The 3D printer I used you can get now for I believe around $120. It's a monoprice mini. I paid around $190 a year ago, so they're really not that pricey. I found a fix to a broken air vent for an fj80 on thingiverse a while ago, which saved me from buying a new vent for $80. I'm pretty sure this thing has saved me much more than it has cost just from printing cheap plastic things I didn't feel like buying on ebay.
 
Drove out and biked Bentonville. Hit 423k and only saw gas mileage in the single digits. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen double digit gas mileage in awhile. Even without bikes. Might need to investigate that.

Wow, I can maybe afford that printer! Thanks for the feedback, I'm going to checkout that Tinkercad software now cause I'm in the same boat with Solid Works. And I need to check out that vent fix. :)
