Does he need to chase the moisture out?
Personally I would spray it down with a hose first that way you can see how far the heat spreads. But the main key is as soon as your done you hit it with a hose again so you can paint it sooner without it being exposed to the environment and moisture

Question or guidance from all FJ40 owners, does the headline go directly unto that metal roof? IMO in Houston, Tx the heat is overwhelming and I don't believe the headliner will last very long!

On fj55 there's a layer of felt between the headliner and the roof skin.
It helps with the heat of the sun and id put some in your fj40 before the headliner goes up.
I used contact adhesive to stick it to the roof.

Sell it and buy a 55 problem solved..
NO!

Dropped my skidplate. It's a lot easier coming down than going up, thing weighs about 100 pounds. I don't need it around town and it looks like I have some parking brake seals work to do. I'll just lean it up out of the way until the next hardcore run

Don (FC Fab) make that? Looks a lot like the one I have on my 40, definitely takes a tranny jack to install that heavy bastard!
No, skid plate came with the doubler from Morgan. Heard that it was a Butch built but don't know for sure.

THAT…is a skid plate…it looks like it could provide frame support instead of case protection 😲

gave Steve(AKA Lardass) a bath, meeting Norcal Pig brothers at NorCal Toyotafest, not sure why, this our 3rd or fourth year attending, they still dont know anything about 55s, when we tell them about them they get this 1960s glazed eyes. will be good to see the guys, looking forward to seeing Matts 55.
besides wash, i added new headlight bezels, 1 disappeared at pig party. i did stop at J Macks on the way home, maybe he needed it. i did get to drive his pig, wow! if the other was the Angry Pig, this is the Happy Pig. That truck at 80 down a bumpy dirt road was asking for more throttle, amazing truck. A testament to Jims Skills
