I think your not too old Toyota will be more reliable than most newer vehicles and less expensive/simpler to repair than any newer vehicle if something goes wrong. Working on sanding and buffing my DIY paint job today. I painted the LC with XO rust olive brown. This is a cheap alkyd enamel that you can color match. It does not harden up/dry as quickly as rustoleum. You can wet sand and buff it to a nice shine, but if sprayed in cooler weather or too thick it will wrinkle and not harden up. My paint has been on 3 weeks and I still cannot sand out the runs/wrinkles as it is too soft..............I wanted to try this cheap way to paint after good reports on rustoleum and my good results with rustoleum. My results with XO rust were not as good. If you want to spray and cut/buff a cheap enamel it must be done in warm sunny condition for the paint to harden up good enough to sand and buff in reasonable time.

I have have tried mixing Rustoleum with the paint hardener sold at Tractor Supply. It helps it set a little faster.
Rustoleum has an professional line, if you find a color you like that's some good hard wearing paint. They have a gray that's pretty good for steelies

I got some of that and mixed it in after I first painted 1Xdoor. I haven't tried sanding any of the runs/wrinkles out on the rest of the car yet. I"m going to wait another week. I'm fairly sure this paint isn't going to lift and chip like the cheap white that was sprayed on the car in Spain..........It's a learning experience........

Came up with a new design for the hood struts.......no drilling this time and one set fits all 70s.....narrow or wide nose. We have plenty in stock for a while.....PM me to order some or with any questions.
Water jetted pieces with a little hand massaging to fit the ball stud, powder coated in house.....so.....Made in the USA.

Never. And I've had enough leaf sprung trucks to really, really value a capable off-road rig that is actually comfortable. But I am looking for an 80...
I just told Kass that we don't need any food on Monday. We'll eat plenty of sand that day.

Didn't see the old design, but this is a good'un. I like you have the strap continuing a bit past the loaded point.
I've seen many hoods aren't reinforced for a strut they crack, fold or crease over short time.
