My apologies for not putting any instructions in with these kits....we will refine them as we go. This first batch is to get some feedback from.
The wide nose stuff can only fit one way but the narrow nose stuff is a little different. Here is where I mounted my parts on my 73.....
The ball stud goes where that upper bolt is on the cowl, direct replacement.
The plate is 1.75" from the front edge of the hinge to the rear edge of the new plate. Pretty basic. I believe my guy made the shape to fit perfect in that area...too high and it hangs over, too low and there is too much exposed hood area. None of this is mega critical....it will work if you're off a tad.

Looks easy enough. Thanks Chris.
Have you considered a kit for the rear doors too? I know there's a kit out of Australia but with shipping and whatnot... I assume they should be similar across the 70 range?

I assume the HZJ73 that Chris used as a template is a 12V (single battery) where your BJ74 is 24V (dual battery)?I have a partial kit in my possession now. The rear bracket is indeed in the way of the strut. When I get the rest of the components in my hand I will see what needs to happen to that bracket.

Land Rover relied on the same style single rod to hold the hood up which scared the crap out of me considering how much the hood / tire combination weighed. I learned to check the oil level in record time.I have a partial kit in my possession now. The rear bracket is indeed in the way of the strut. For those of you with RHD, 24V cruisers. The strut of the hood kit may or may not clash with battery tray bracket. In my case, it does.
I guess I will have to trim the bracket to clear the strut.
