My apologies for not putting any instructions in with these kits....we will refine them as we go. This first batch is to get some feedback from.

The wide nose stuff can only fit one way but the narrow nose stuff is a little different. Here is where I mounted my parts on my 73.....

The ball stud goes where that upper bolt is on the cowl, direct replacement.

The plate is 1.75" from the front edge of the hinge to the rear edge of the new plate. Pretty basic. I believe my guy made the shape to fit perfect in that area...too high and it hangs over, too low and there is too much exposed hood area. None of this is mega critical....it will work if you're off a tad.

Looks easy enough. Thanks Chris.

Have you considered a kit for the rear doors too? I know there's a kit out of Australia but with shipping and whatnot... I assume they should be similar across the 70 range?

Toyota Troopy | Schutties Fasteners

There was a time when West Coast Cruisers had a white 77 Series on their website. (Before they were legal in the U.S.). I would take a peek at it every several days. I thought it was the most beautiful Cruiser I had ever seen. :)

Found the photo ....

I also recall West Coast Cruisers sold it on here awhile back too before it was legal for a really good price. I guess we both missed out on that sale.

Edit: Found the old for sale thread: For Sale - 1991 HZJ77 ZX Turbo Diesel

Cool pieces....guess I'll have to buy a Troopy so I can build a set for it!

Be careful where you buy your diesel fuel and clean out those seldom used Jerry Cans.........
Rob's got a Cruiser in the shop with issues. As it turns out the mesh screen fuel pickup in the fuel tank was ~ 98% stopped up with crud. (Bad fuel / crud in your Jerry Can or a combination of both)

For those of you with RHD, 24V cruisers. The strut of the hood kit may or may not clash with battery tray bracket. In my case, it does.

I guess I will have to trim the bracket to clear the strut.

I have a partial kit in my possession now. The rear bracket is indeed in the way of the strut. When I get the rest of the components in my hand I will see what needs to happen to that bracket.

I assume the HZJ73 that Chris used as a template is a 12V (single battery) where your BJ74 is 24V (dual battery)?

Did a fan clutch mod, fixed a dangling mud flap, worked my butt off to remove adhesive where the old window covers were, and cleaned her up!

His test mule was not a JDM 24 volt truck.
He sent me parts specifically to test the fit. Shipping is a bit ahead of the curve.:)

Land Rover relied on the same style single rod to hold the hood up which scared the crap out of me considering how much the hood / tire combination weighed. I learned to check the oil level in record time. :)

Why did you bother to check? It would have needed oil no matter what:flipoff2:

Any of you Aussie fellows running this style of retractable air hose (I'm assuming it's an Aussie product) on your Land Cruisers?

My truck is a LHD 24V......explains why they fit my truck so well. Wish I had a local truck that was RHD 24V to test.

Those hubs are for an 80 Series.
