Page one of this thread has really good pics of an SOA being fixed correctly, as far as the suspension itself goes.

There’s still a handful of guys here on the board running SOA that could help guide you through what you’re aiming to do.
Still a handful of us kicking around. I've got an old school SOA, there was a good write up over on POR but this was back in 2004 and it's probably gone by now.

yours is one of my favorite ones on here. the other is that huge blue one lol next investment is a welder. build me some sliders, bumpers, and do the SPOA and make my own Z link for now. since I missed PP25 from this stupid engine problem, ill be ready for the next one.

My 71 is soa and run 35s. Cut and turn is the proper way but 5 degree shims and a grinder to the drive line to clear inside u joint area worked for me and has held up for 20 years now. I haven’t ever ran a Sway bar on it. Then your big thing would be high steer or white trash way of leaving the drag link below and welding on a separate arm above leafs on the right knuckle arm for steering. Ran both ways never broke one but not the correct way. Also depending what motor trans combo your running you may not get bound with a longer driveline

What are you shimming? Because I saw one where they cut the ends off and rotated those, and im not about the be doing all that stuff

if its for caster, this kit can add a 10 degree caster adjustment, any good?

If your not cutting and turning knuckles. Shimming between perch mount and spring to adjust if you go one way to far or not far enough. That’s the kit I have under yellow pig. When I did my soa I set my axle up level on perch mounts. Used two levels to set existing perch mounts on between blocks then set new perch mounts above with a torpedo level. Was it correct way I dunno, does it work yup. Then added 5 degree shims to rotate a tiny bit then ended up grinding a little on the housing of u joints to clear. If your going v8 and auto you’ll be further back so the angle is better with a longer driveline. I didn’t read through all your stuff just popped in and saw the last post. You may want to see if someone has a cut and turned housing around then swap all your guts over and add new bearings and such.

Yeah lookin like the TH350/NP203 im going for on sunday. New engine here on saturday. But eith this combo im shedding 500lbs off the nose which is fantastic. I can adjust the mounts and stuff to move pinion angles and so forth.

Is there any value in the stock wheels? I was thinking of selling all 5 of my wheels/tires and going for higher offset for the SOA. Flippin only got like 60 miles on these tires because the car spends more time broken than working LOL

Agree. But a pic of what’s under the hood would be even more impressive. Some of us know…

Yes. Lots of people on the hunt for stock steels. There are new ones available, at over $200 a piece.

Usually when I base the cost on ones ive seen sell, it sits in the FS section to die so I wanted to make sure lol
