Welcome to the club
Well i assumed someone would have advice along these lines when I asked but seems like I ask, I dont get any responses and then I start it and someone comes in to tell me im doing it wrong after lol so im just WANGIN things till it works.

Bought a brand new flare kit. Amazon special. FIRST FLIPPIN FLARE i tried to do the line pushes out the back. Okay, maybe thats my fault i didnt tighten it. Tight it more and the flipping wing nut explodes. This piece of crap was cast in someones garage from old soda cans. Its like those videos from middle eastern countries where they are working on the side of the busy street smelting refuse from the side of the road and they made this steaming pile. So i drove an hour to the nearest tool store and got a new flare kit and I got one of the 3 done. Two more to go.

I hate when I buy tools that I know I already have somewhere in my shed. But I dont feel like digging it out. Its the worst

Just keep at it and then enjoy it. You sell and buy another your going to be doing the same thing to it overtime cause there will be things you want to change.
That's my dilemma lol I need a truck for hauling wood and stuff. And bills. And needs disc conversion. High steer. Etc etc. I'll never be done lol

Currently using the GX as a wood truck

Think it too soon to give up! Mine been sitting for couple years and still don't want to let her go 😏😘. Had 3 at 1 time, wish I kept them all 🤔🧐. Remember anyone can own a J**p! It takes a Crazy MOFO to own a Landcruiser 😲😮😳. Nevermind an FJ55 ya gotta really have a Screw loose. Walk away for a few and think about it and come back and Kick Ass 😏😉😘

We will see lol The lexus I took the engine out of was a good example of the same thing. buddy modified it. it stopped running. I wired it on megasquirt. he loved it for a bit. got bored and I bought it. then I blew it up. then he bought it back and fixed it. then got bored of it again. then I bought it back. now its heart was moved.

I get to a point where I am worried once its together, something bad happens and I burn out on it completely.

It was never supposed to be a project, was supposed to just need a little TLC and then run and drive. I only have the driveshafts left, and then wire the shifter and its running and driving. But then I still need to address the high steer issue.

I didnt post my shifter but I bought a RADesigns VX Control stand alone shift controller and shifter. 3 wires and boom easy.

For high steer you can take a spare drivers side knuckle arm cut it and weld it to the passengers side upside down so it lifts the arm over leafs. Leaves the drag link below the leafs, steering drag link above. Then cut a triangle brace and weld in between the two arms. Is it the correct way not necessarily but does it work yes and I have put thousands of miles on it that way running 36 to 38” tires with no ps. Could do that “temporary” tell the money is set aside for highsteer.

I have found when I get down on a project and look at quitting a few things really help.

Keep it running at all cost. Once they get long term parked the end is near, just keep it mobile.

Then I make a punch list and hang it in the garage. I list off 25 or 30 things easy from "replace wipers" to "fix x-case leak" to "rip out old headliner" and then I try to best figure the time it is going to take and the cost... then when I have a few hours free or 20 minutes or a weekend I can quickly take a look at the punch list and knock something out. It's been a big help to keep projects moving.

I say keep it, everyone I know regrets selling a good cruiser.

May have one in the parts boxes somewhere will look and see if I do it’s yours.
That would be awesome.

As of right now. 2 of my flares don't seem right and the distribution block for the rear lines on the rear axle didn't fit the M9 fitting, but the 10mm fit and tightened which I found odd. So brakes I'm not 100% confident, more like. 75%. Lol

And transmission isn't responding to the voltage to the solenoids. Which means either fluid is low, or somethings wrong. But I don't have a dipstick. Capacity is 9.something but I put in 6 so far.
