This is all I can add. Two different part numbers over a couple year span. My microfiche set starts 03/69, so I have no reference before that.

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Mine don't look like that, I'll have to do some more digging.

I hated the idea of doing a carb for a long time, but then I had to - a clean work surface and this video series by pinhead and it was easy:

Note, he makes an error at one point that is caught in the end - a spring or something, can't remember - just watch through, set up and away you go, you can do it, it's not voodoo science

I was going to say - Charlie's, aka @Pin_Head videos are fantastic.

Thanks Tim for reminding me to take pictures. Wish those fiches had pictures. I'm not real sure if something is missing on mine?

So when you pull the shifter lever out, the piece with the C clip looking end should come separate and thats whats broken on mine. But yours isnt threaded, and im not sure if mine is but the hump on the side of the column part looks the same as mine.

Just wait until you need to put it on a rotisserie

What year is yours, mine's a 71. I can send you that shifter rod assembly if you need it.

Before I start cutting, have you tried to remove your shift handle off that rod? I knocked out one pin, but there's two more on that handle that I can't get without destroying it. I'm just making sure you will have a usable piece when done.

So the pin thing on the shifter - the pin is on a spring for the top and bottom - theres a video on youtube for it
