Purchased 2 pieces of rear amby door glass and rear corner weatherstripping from my local dealer for my ‘76 40. (FWIW- I had my dealer check and the amby door glass weatherstripping is also still available.) Parts guy told me I got the last piece of glass in the US. My 2nd piece will be coming from Japan in about 2-3wks.

Funny story- this last piece of glass was sent from the California distribution center, to my dealer here in Alabama. The box it came in was HUGE. Was told it was due to hazmat requirements. This piece of glass was only $40...the box and amount of packing inside, had to cost just as much. Had to share-

This small piece of glass was packed to the gills, very strategically, inside this box! But hey, it protected the glass very well:

Can’t wait to see how the 2nd piece from Japan is packed...

Oh and here’s the rear corner glass weatherstripping that was shipped separately:

Awesome. I got some 60 series chrome and it came in a box the size of a coffin.

@wngrog, that is a good one. I was told my 2nd piece, coming from Japan, will make stops at 3 different distribution centers before it gets to my dealer. Fingers crossed it makes it in one piece.

BTW, I checked and SOR sells aftermarket rear amby door glass (clear or tinted) and used oem glass. One piece of their clear glass is $110 (yikes). Tinted is $85. Even used is $57. Nothing against SOR, but when you can purchase a new piece of clear oem glass for under $50, it’s a no brainer.

Was so cheap at the dealer, was almost tempted to pick up a couple more pieces for no other reason than how cheap it was.

Ordered front brake shoes #04494-60021(Wide 3” width) for a 1976 non- USA FJ40 as well as the corresponding wheel cylinders 47510-69055.

It would be really sweet if they had a smog pump for something older than an 82’ 40.
I can't get to my records right now for part number, but about 6 years ago I took my old smog pump into NAPA Auto Parts near me when they weren't busy. They helped me look through their rebuilt smog pump catalog which has pictures. Looked under Toyota in years around 1978(my fj49 year) and found matching pump for other Toyota vehicle. I think it was a pickup but might have even been car. Took us maybe 5-10 minutes to find matching pump. Prices for rebuilt pumps for my fj40 online ran from $200-$275 at that time. At NAPA I paid $68.99 which included core charge! I bought 3 and kept my core which is original to my truck.
I may sound like a NAPA commercial, but I have saved a ton of money over the last 29 years checking there first. I think any auto parts store that has catalogues they will let you look through is worth giving my business to! Now I probably need to ask if I can browse their rebuilder computer catalogues!

Geoff,

I was just looking for 88712-60080 and would buy the others if I could find them. Still got a source? I've tried everywhere online.

@WarDamnEagle, I'm new to the FJ40 stuff, but I had Alabama Auto Service and A/C Specialist in Prattville work on my dealer installed system before the evaporater started leaking and then they pulled the unit and put in the Vintage Air System about 2 months ago. They custom made the lines for me (I think). 334 361 0100 Ms. Brenda and Neal are super people.

Thanks George; that's a good reference to keep in mind. The Troopy is with me in Riyadh and I was hoping to have some A/C sooner rather than later but I have pretty much decided at this point to wait until I get it home next year. I have other Land Cruisers over here to take to the desert in the meantime. I did find the lines on Amayama - maybe. You never know with them until they ship.

Hello all, I'm searching for a window/glass for a 1981 Australian RHD HJ47 with vent window. And a radiator. And a fan blade. 🤞🏼

Had some bad luck on rough roads in GSE and a window break in at home. Sigh.

Do you have the part numbers? If not you can look them up on Partsouq (for example) with your VIN and then check online sources and/or your local dealer.
