Second coat! It went on super well!

The final UV Coat went on nicely! There are a couple of spots where you can see the extra layer of the top coat. Overall, I am super happy with the progress!

It turned into quite the weekend! Picked up the parts 40. It was stripped down which made my life easy for parts I needed!

My neighbors probably think I'm crazy!

Since I had access to my dads trailer after we grabbed the parts 40, we went ahead and grabbed my spring green tub out of storage! Missed it! It was a family affair, "Everyone grabs a corner" but we got the body on!

I stripped the parts needed off of the 69' 40 and my dad came over and gave me a hand. He probably didn't know he would be taking the knuckles off the 60 axle for the 40, but there are no idle hands around here!

*He did question why he had kids*

24 hours of the parts truck! Which I think is my fastest turnaround! Worked out really great, the SW Cruiser Cleaners, aka Steve and @TrailBornRunner came over and got the rest of the parts truck and the other 60 parts I had lying around from Chop!

Frame looks great! It's good that you're wearing PPE, but a basic respirator like that will not remove the cyanoacrylates that are in POR-15. If possible, would keep the overhead door open until it dries, and use fans to keep the air moving as much as possible. Otherwise, a full face mask with fresh air feed is your best bet.

True True!! I had the two bay doors open and fans going! I will never be painting a frame like that again. Came out super nice, but too much work!

I highly suggest sandblasting and powder coating to anyone who is going to go this route.

I had to cut out the old motor mounts. What a pita! The PO who took this apart before me cut out the motor mount—but in an unspeakable way. They cut the body instead of the bolt, so I will need to weld that back together! I massaged it back into place! New body mounts are in! Time to start bolting everything back together.

I recently spent an couple of evenings struggling with those same front body mounts. I'd be lying if I said I didn't at one point consider cutting them just like the PO did to yours.

They are a pain!!! I battled one side for a long time!

Chasing all my threads to make everything happy! New bolts from Metric Overland! Life is good!

My girlfriend and I put the front clip on together. It was her first time wrenching on anything, and it was a fun experience!

Cleaning up surfaces and adding new gaskets! Fluid film is soaking in nicely. The windshield is on! It is starting to look like a 40 again!

Does anyone know where I can purchase replacement parts for a Kaymar Rear Bumper? I need to order some lights and a harness for it. Stoked I was able to pick this up for the 40!

Long time no progress! The reason is I moved! Lauren and I got the 40 all buttoned up for long-term storage in the garage until we decided where to continue the project. Winter with no garage at the new house is not ideal!

We took the 60 out for a shake-down before the move, checked out the fall colors. It made the 1000-mile journey without skipping a beat! I thought about flat towing the 40 behind the 60... even with the v8 swap, I am super happy I didn't... We hit all 4 seasons on the drive!
