I am excited to get this frame cleaned up! It's still winter outside, or else I would use a sandblaster attachment on my power washer. I don't want my driveway to be ice.

Eastwood Contour SCT Tool, Grinder floppy disk, and Wire wheels on a drill. Woof.

I am going with Por15 Product on this after reading and talking to friends it seems like the move.

All in the prep, I know!

Finally, I had some time back home! Moving on with getting the frame all stripped and painted with POR15!

I ordered a bolt kit from Metric Overland and also tons of gaskets and seals from City Racer to start putting this back together ASAP!

Also was nice to bust out the ultrasonic cleaner and start picking off parts! Did the Valve Cover today and those always clean up so nicely! Scrubbing on the 2F and making a list for it! It ran so good in chop! Cant wait to have it in the 40.

I need to get me one of those cleaners I think.

Also, progress is progress. I gotta keep on it with my 40 too.

I'll text you a link! I wish I had some years ago!

I got some nice shiny bolts from Overland Metric! The 40 kit was nice, but I added some more! Power wash and scrubbed my frame some more with degreaser! Still, more to go, I need to grind some more and do the metal prep (Etching.) After that I'll get started on cleaning the 60 series axles!

Well last winter I was having a conversation on the chairlift and one thing led to another and a friend offered my his 1969 Fj40. Its a rough body but its mostly all there. He took it apart to redo it, and lost some mojo! (I cant blame him, I am feeling that today!) His Grandpa bought it in 88 and its been sitting on a farm ever since! I need some parts to help get my spring green on the road! He said the 1F still runs as well.

Funny enough I am moving in 16 days, and when I told my family I was getting another 40 before I leave, they thought I was crazy. (am I?:slap:)

I got some work to do.
*NOTE* photos are old, the 69' is in parts bins for the most part.

Easily one of the best things I’ve purchased for my 40 was a bolt kit.
That's great to hear! I am excited to have some nice bolts holding this all together!

The convenience of having the correct fastener at hand throughout any of these projects is priceless.

Hurry up ya bum. You've got two weeks and it needs to drive to Bear ;)

Stoked you got the Vevor, word of advice, after using for prolonged use with full heat, you will kill the switch. So get aftermarket switches and bypass the switch wiring altogether, then it won't overheat and melt.

I'm going to need you to send me some pictures and see what you did ;)

I'm pretty sick of grinding all this crust! (And so is the dog)

So it's ready for paint tomorrow morning! I snuck in a Mountain Bike Ride Tonight and did some recovery with the Bolt organization.
