Fantastic effort on the headliner....I know how stressful that can be if screwed up. It turned out perfectly.

As for the rear door storage box/table set up, I'd be very interested to see more details of its demensions. Might need me a pair for my 76 wagon. Will you be making those to order if you can conjure up enough interest from other mudders?

Cheers

Beautiful work Wayne and unlike most of my mechanical endeavors does not seem to involve wood shims and duct tape. :D

well, it seems i messed up.:ban:

the front console doesn't fit with the new insulating material :eek:so i will need to drop the headliner on the front, remove the insulating material, replace with 1/2", reinstall the headliner and then install the front console.:meh:

i might do the same to the rear.:hmm:

damn tight fits:censor:

"**** tight fits:censor:" ..... not to disagree but there at least 2 photos on this page alone where "tight fit" is definitely a "good thing.":D

One of the "tight fits" girl looks so much like the trucker lady driver who known as Lisa. Is she the one???:hmm:

Your workmanship is phenomenal! I wish I could afford to have you build my rig.

SS bolts with antisieze through out.
no screws, everything is nutzerts.
the owner wanted to be able to install tracks and drawer system at a later date so M8 nutzerts into the floor.
each one will get it's own SS panhead bolt to keep the elements out of the holes and out of the interior.
the rear is complete except for the window panels.
start of the cargo barrier...

the cargo barrier is installed ...
kinda looks like a Paddywagon :hmm:
once the side panels are on, look out hitchhikers

the rear floor trim is finally installed.

the front doors reassembled
then mark and drill for the aluminum inside panels
M5 nutzerts installed
very sticky black tape installed
hot water tank wrap insulation, since it is plastic bubble wrap with alloy foil layers on both sides it will work perfect for this application. it will keep cold, heat, noise and air flow out and heat inside.

i changed from the verticle pull handle (i suspect this is why the 7* series doors end up with that crack in the upper cross piece) with a horizontal handle from a JDM unit. this will give him an armrest as well as extending the "pull stress" when shutting the door over a greater area.
the front signal and markers installed
the outer is looking pretty complete. i removed the original smaller Oz mirrors and installed larger convex units from a JDM. this gives a much broader viewing area (and they were in better shape since one of the originals had a crack in the glass)

maybe you could put me and the wife and mutts up in a nice place down there for a year and in exchange i build you a rig in Honduras (you supply all the parts)

Wayne, you have to finish my rig before you go to Honduras.:D I used to live in Tegucigalpa. I don't know if you'd come back once you found you could still work on cruisers down there but if he'll take you up on it, it might be nice to get out of Ontario in the winter and Copan is pretty cool

I'll have to seriously consider this! Let me finish getting my ducks in a row and we will have to revisit this topic. :D

Brian,
of course all the work booked would have to be finished before i left, i am looking forward to finishing your baby.
Daniel,
it was an offer (more of a joke) but, hey, if you can get your ducks in a row and if i can get my work finished up ... my wife retires Feb 2014 ... what a hell of a retirement gift THAT would be!! she loves to travel ...

cheers
