I recently picked up an LJ71 imported from Japan and it came with real thin rain visors. My previous LJ78 had the OEM "bubble" visors that the OP removed. I liked those, but they were quite gaudy and not the most useful to me.
So to answer your...
The thin ones are on yahoo auctions often. My HZJ77 also has them but they are nothing special. I left them on because they are good for cracking windows open on rainy days.
Sadly, box contents are not OEM hardware.
G turbo red wheel arrived intact.
Opinion question: what is everybody’s preferred exhaust manifold coating? Is it worth the time and effort to ceramic coat?
Soooooo…..
Today I pulled the FT out of the single cab…to sell it.
(record scratch noise)
Yeah.
Why?
Well, for a couple of reasons. Mostly, @doge wanted a FT for his beautiful FJ60. I had an FT. I could replace it with an FTE, for about the...
I had to cancel the wrenching weekend we had planned here, secondary to an ice storm and power outage, so I made myself feel better by bolting on an outer fender freshly painted and shined up by @Fern1109.
Dang, it looks good.
Switchpro controls are going in dash to the left of the steering wheel.
Switchpro will control the winch, Baja Designs bumper lights, air compressor and I am drawing a blank atm on the other two items. Seven circuits used in it though out of...
1HZ/79 (new) vs 1HDFT/80 (old) power steering pump union bolt. Since I’m running a 79 series line, I will probably use the new 79 series union. Also, because it’s shiny.
Got the new wheels and tires actually mounted on the truck. It only took 3 years in deep storage before I was ready. Yes, I know there’s only two nuts holding things together. Truck life emulates real life, I suppose.

Good progress on a number of fronts today.
First, I confess my non-OEM sins. I used a non-JIS hardware store bolt to bolt up the throttle pedal bracket. The correct OEM hardware is on order, but won’t be here for three weeks and I couldn’t just...
Next: power steering.
I have a new, 79 series high-pressure line and a used FZJ80 line. The orientation/antirotation tabs on both hoses were in the way, so I ground down the 79 series tab and it fit.
New style one piece pressure gasket is...
Low pressure side:
New takeoff paper clip cooler almost fits. Low pressure return line needs to be about 12”longer so I have some 3/8” oil rated hose on order.
This is a HZJ79 return hose that was too long so I chopped it off and it fits fine.
Next: finishing the doors.
Correct door cards arrived in that big old box, and I had new gray door parts to use. I could not find the plastic escutcheon that goes under the window crank, but I ordered a couple more. With all new inner and outer...
AC line work, compressor cap is for a Denso John Deer application.
Finalizing top mount IC.
Custom bumps being made to help with vibrations. They are actually 80-series hood bumps. 😉

Little details on our in house made rear...
@davegonz stopped by tonight and helped me unload a bunch of parts.
Lo and behold, I found the stupid bag of headliner clips I had lost last time … On the roof of the truck. So in the most mundane of updates, here are the damn finished interior...
Yesterday was good and bad.
I had ordered stock OEM takeoff driveshafts from Cruiserparts…which is always a roll of the dice. Would they be rusty? Would the lengths work?
They fit and bolted right up. Things are looking good.
A new friend came...
