There's 2 generations of the supercharger, perhaps they use different pulleys?

That is possible. I have not looked that closely at a 2nd gen unit.

So if these trucks were quoted as 212hp and 275 tq when NA, whats that figure after the trd bloweR (really)? is there a bunch of BS to deal with like the 3.4v6 issues w detonation and the extra $$$ you gotta spend at urd to get it to work properly/safely?

Are these still available for ~$3200 from a mud member? I read the whole thread and a bunch of it is older posts...

I installed mine myself and I put 93 in as recommended-that's the only change other than more power. I got mine in fall 2012 from CDan. I got the second to last one he had in stock-not sure of other vendors.

I installed mine myself as well. I guess beachcomberspi got mine haha since Cdan did not have any and told me he has no information of when/if he will have anymore.

I got lucky and found a mud member selling a brand new one still in the box, so i jumped on it.

I installed it and the only thing i did different was to put the cooler MR2 spark plugs in. Other then that, mine is installed just as the instructions said.

I installed mine while having pneumonia on a cold winter weekend.... so that was miserable, but i was so pumped about getting it installed that i made it happen.

This is just a suggestion, but i also installed a catch can from the PVC at the same time to help keep the intake clean.

I did the MR2 plugs also..you jogged my memory. I've got a 2.6 pulley ready to go on once I'm intercooled!

All this supercharger talk is killing me. If all goes well I'm hoping to order one next month. I'll likely install it the same time I go through my cooling system.

The plan is to install at the same time as the SC:
a new TRad 3 core brass radiator
OEM coolant hoses
Blue fan clutch - but what weight oil?
Different fan - probably the 3FE fan
OEM Thermostat
OEM Belts

I have 150k miles on the original head gasket. I'll replace that if/when it goes. I also have a scan gauge so I'm already familiar with what my operating temps are.

Those of you who have an intercooler or meth injection - what made you choose one over the other? Looks like both can achieve the same thing. I saw an IC kit in the vendor section for about $2k for everything and there's no upkeep. And the snowperformance meth kit looks like it could be done for about half the price but I always have to keep an eye on meth levels.

Either method would likely be installed at a much later date. I'll probably install a boost gauge and AFR gauge as well (gotta look into how that's done) Are the acura dual gauge pods still available from autometer?

Anything else I should consider?

Also, please correct me if I'm wrong, I have dual batteries and slee's washer bottle relocation kit and I hear the fit is really, really tight but possible with little modification. Is this true?

I guess as a data point i should add that about 12 months before installing my supercharger, i completely rebuilt my motor. It didn't need it at all once i had it opened and to the machine shop, but i did anyways. New rings, valve regrind, cometic MLS head gasket and ARP head fasteners. I also sent off my injectors to be cleaned by witch hunter (I think that's them). I ALSO had a brand new radiator installed as well.

So, considering all that, i did not even mess with fan clutches, different fans and stuff. I mean after all, TRD is a lot smarter than I am and i put the package they designed on.

What was your mileage?

I think if I had more miles on my 80, like 225/250k or more I'd be more inclined to rebuild the motor but at 150k I'll take my chances. But I'm definitely going to make sure my cooling is as efficient as possible.

It will fit with dual batts and Slee's washer relocation kit. It is tight but doable

Engine compartment airflow suffers somewhat with dual batteries and a blower. The cooling system needs to be 100%.

I put 20K oil in the Amazon FCT-004 blue hub fan clutch that we ran on the 80 for a while, the LX came with a blue hub clutch, no idea what thickness the oil is

that said, we now run black hub fan clutches (the 80 came with one, got the other from a junkyard) with 10K oil on both the 80 and the LX, kept the blue hub clutches as spares

and yeah, we ditched the ring fans for the 3FE fan - if anybody wants a ring fan, let me know

Anyone have a good enginebay pic? Ive got coilovers and big hoops taking up realestate, dunno if this would fit... Not sure if these are even around to buy anymore regardless?

No pics (WISH), but I believe TRDparts4u has some in stock. They are a registered vender here. Ask for Jacque.

Good luck!

No tech in this post, just pure excitement for the S/C I just ordered from Dan! :bounce::bounce::clap::D I also ordered the blue clutch, 3fe fan, hoses, thermostat, mr2 plugs, ps pump rebuild kit and a couple other PM things.

Anybody know what the gap is supposed to be for those plugs?
