Walk away from the kettle… it’ll never boil while you’re there. :D

15 of these adapters have been made! One is getting delivered to me tomorrow to confirm its all good. I'll report back tomorrow.

I’ve got a July ‘74 that came with an F and four on the floor… and it has me wanting a column shift.

To be clear, I’m not asking to join the line… but I almost wish I could. It’s way too much work, effort, and creativity to install the whole shebang on a 350 converted 40 with power steering.

Very impressive work.

If you figure out a clutch for a busted knee (that doesn’t break the bank) and I’ll be joining that line. That would confuse the heck out of somebody… no clutch pedal and a column shift… they’d be entirely lost. :grinpimp:

Sorry for the delay. My child brought home some super fun virus and the whole house got sick.
I am happy to report that the adapter is perfect and the rest will be on their way to me soon. :D I am having a gasket made that goes between the 3-speed shifter plate and the adapter. Currently the only want to get this gasket is to buy the whole OEM 3 speed transmission seal kit. Not ideal.
Plan is to offer the adapter, the gasket and the needed allen head bolts as one kit to make it as easy as possible for people.

Great job. Without going back through the whole thread again, was there a list to get on for parts once they come available?

My 69 has the original 3 speed and the Trans tunnel is already cut for an aftermarket pto, so I'm game to try this following Skreddy's lead. Need to do a TC rebuild while I'm in there too.

I had this thread bookmarked a ways back, Would be useful potentially for this project! :)

Ok so just trying to keep track of who is interested. 15 adapters are available. Please reach out if you want on or off the "list". Pricing is going to be $400. That will include the adapter, custom gasket for the column shifter plate and mounting bolts. Once I have all the pieces for this kit and they are ready to ship, I'll post a thread in the classifieds. Adapters are currently on the way to me. If there is interest beyond this initial batch, still reach out so I can get an idea on how big a potential second run would be (clearly the more the better for efficiency and cost sake).

I would like to thank @landcruisnman for making these adapters! Beautiful job. So far this project has been done completely within the cruiser community which is amazing. The gaskets are currently being cut by @Outsane . Initial awesome mad man idea was @65swb45 . @Bullzi was tremendous is helping refine and model this thing into its perfect form. @TheNeek and @blbuck12 for printing plastic prototypes. @Skreddy for being the test pilot and documenting the full needs to make this all work in a 40. @ClemsonCruiser , @DomSmith and @EWheeler have been super supporting through it. I know I have given the shout out before but it always is worth repeating. Truly appreciate all these folks. Fun stuff happens when you get enablers together.

Finally we will be able to shift into first gear without having to double clutch. I'm also looking forward to try and up/down shift all 4 gears just based on RPM alone on the column shifter (clutchless shifting) :steer: :)

Clutchless shifting works: done it.

Adapters have arrived! Once I get the top plate gasket for each adapter I'll get all these boxed up and contact everyone.
